Why can't I manage the US?

I choose the US as one of my active leagues and when I go to 'add new manager' and then bring up the US team, the 'take control' button disappears. I can take over all the big European countries but not US. PLEASE explain this, grr!!

I guess there aren't enough US players, but I can't imagine

There are countries that you just cant for some reason, it cant be that there aren't enough USA players, you have more than 11 w/o the USA league activated.

you need more than 11 players, I think there must be a limit, like 200 players or something, so you can choose

Even still, there is a manager on my game for the USA and I only have the English leagues selected.

yeah, I remember when i played min. database with only Dutch and English league selected I got offered the job for US manager

Allright all, I tried it again a few weeks in to the season and now it works. Go figure, maybe it's because I installed EP5? Whatever the case, thanks for the tips.

But usually the EP5 doesn't take effect untill you start a new game

I always started a new game when a new Ep was out

play the game properally and manage a club until the job comes up properally.

As Liverpool I won everything for 4 years in a row (on my first CM game ever) and I never got offered a job, and as FV I got promoted once into Serie C1 and I got offered the USA job

Nah, the USA job probably was never up in those first 4 years. IT happens.
