I'm conducting a study for my college media class and was hoping I could get responses about why you play FIFA?

Just answer a couple of the following:
-Do you play competitive soccer in real life?
-Is is this a major reason why you play FIFA?
-Does your understanding of soccer aid in your gameplay?
-If you do not play competitive soccer, why do you play FIFA?
- What do you look for in a soccer game?
- What would you change about FIFA?

Is is this a major reason why you play FIFA? - No, I play Fifa because I love football.
Does your understanding of soccer aid in your gameplay? - Yes, it does - I am better able to use actual strategy
If you do not play competitive soccer, why do you play FIFA? - To re-enact the exploits of my heroes.
What do you look for in a soccer game? - Authentic gameplay and graphics, replay value, real competitions
What would you change about FIFA? - More faces, stadia, cinematics, trophy-winning celebrations, updating graphics that have not changed since 2002 (crowds, substitutes), more user-friendly for editing - we cannot add a National team and play the club and country mode. This is not a benefit to EA, so what is the point?

-Do you play competitive soccer in real life? Yes... though on an amateur level
-Is is this a major reason why you play FIFA? Nope... used to play PES
-Does your understanding of soccer aid in your gameplay? Not really. Fifa misses out on some of the vital aspects of the game. Whoever make this game don't really understand the game fully.
-If you do not play competitive soccer, why do you play FIFA? I play for fun... but I play competitive anyways.
- What do you look for in a soccer game? Gameplay is the most important. Whilst PES still holds the better graphics, and the better gameplay, I play Fifa because its got more options and the player licenses, and also the amount of teams available.
- What would you change about FIFA? Being able to choose the ball in the match. It's annoying trying to play with a white ball on a snowed out pitch... The players would be slightly more intelligent (and not make ridiculous errors ALL the time), ref's wouldn't get hit by the ball EVERY game (very unrealistic), professional fouls would lead to a red card, you wouldnt get a yellow card after being tackled and accidently running into another player!!! So many aspects...

Before, but not anymore.

Not really. My personal soccer experience horrified me. haha I nearly got my shins broken.

-Does your understanding of soccer aid in your gameplay?
Of course it does. It gives you a head start among those who have lesser knowledge about the dynamics of football in planning your strategies.

-If you do not play competitive soccer, why do you play FIFA?
To live out my frustrations and to do what'd I'd do to my favorite team if I were the manager (frustrated Milan fan)

- What do you look for in a soccer game?
a real soccer game? of course excitement! good battles for possessions and well-capitalized goal-scoring opportunities. as for the soccer video game: more realism with the results of games and the intelligence of the computer opponent. it's always nice to play a game that really translates to the real game.

- What would you change about FIFA?
More involvement with the players and the game. I saw this College NFL game in psp where's not just a simple be a pro game. It allows the gamer to even work up his/her player's college rep, test scores, etc. etc. I hope EA adds this to the be a pro mode of Fifa to add more dynamism and depth. Another I'd like to see is better animations and more realistic AI from the opponent teams. Almost every single Fifa version I've played have very crappy AI's that they sell their best players to lower teams in Manager Mode and lost to lesser teams more often than not.

Totally agree, the change of PES with pes2008 has been a disaster, now we'll see......
