FIFA 07 wont let me install it! I installed the game a long time ago before I had to uninstall it for space. Now I want to install it again and it wont let me. I get to the part where you need to read the terms of rights or w/e its called and all the text is blank. When I accept, it tells me I dont have direct x and exits the installation program.

Yet I do have the latest direct x. Please, what is the problem?? I'm dying of playing some FIFA again..

Why the attitude? Is it not possible for this to happen using the DVD? I'm as stumped as you are. :(

Now I would do that, but I have Windows XP. Anyway to do that, but in XP? Thanks!!

Right click the setup EXE file > Properties > Compatibility > Windows 2000

Can't see why this would help, however.

HI,

Hope this isn't obvious. Did you check Add/Remove Programs to see if Fifa is still there? Have you searched your registry to delete any leftover fifa07 reg keys? Another thing, did you have the option of repairing or removing FIFA07 when you inserted the disk? You may want to try remove. Make sure all of your fifa07 folders are deleted from program files. Best of Luck.

I tried it, and nothing happened. I changed its Compatibility to Windows 20, clicked the EXE file, and the EXE didnt start (No install pop up). :(

@Platini10: Yes I removed FIFA 07 folder, I Add/Remove Programs and FIFA 07 wasn't there (Only FIFA 07 programs). No, when the install EXE opened, it just said I needed to install the game. I would check my registry, but I don't know how unfortunately..

i hope you changed the compatibility mode of the AutoRun.exe....and not of the fifa07.exe....

I did, why? Doing that to Fifa07.exe wouldnt make sense since I cant even play it as it isnt installed...

is that just happened to fifa07? or to all other games/ applications too? this is really weird and i have never found such problem... i think it's windows problem. may be you should try installing the fresh copy of windows then.

You say theres still some fifa programs? My suggestion is remove those programs (might be possible that these programs are holding onto some remaining fifa 07 files thats preventing uninstall) but in my opinion thats unlikely since installer would usually overwrite these files.
Honestly it sounds like an installer issue. i know you dont want to hear this but maybe the data on your DVD is corrupted or the DVD drive itself is having issues reading it. Try another DvD and see if it works to see if it is a DVD player issue.

Like someone else posted, i've never seen this issue before so your guess is as good as mine. Sorry i wasn't a bigger help.

Maybe, I don't know. I uninstalled all the FIFA 07 programs and still no go. The FIFA 08 demo was installed and worked great (other then a random crash during gameplay).

I had the exact same problem, then after a couple of days, just worked.

To this day, no clue as to why it was doing it. I am guessing it was a problem with the drive ( it was acting fishy at a time ). I played around with DMA settings ( which sometimes default to fifo when drive causes errors in dma mode. The best way to resolve this ( if it is in fact a problem ) is to go to hardware manager, uninstall the dvd drive, restart, windows will detect it as new, and reinstall drivers in proper mode.

But, don't do this unless you are sure it's the drive causing problems.
