The player isn`t suppposed to stop before he passes/shots/lobs
If you attack a player with "D"key you have very small posibilities to give a freekick away even if you attacked him without touching the ball like when he stops the bal on his chest and u tackle him and he falls
it should be a managing history like if you win a championship to add it there and there should be notes for every manager.
The players stats should rise . If a player marks 20 goals then he should have a higher rating.
Distance lobs over the golkeeper , just like the lobs in the 16th yard but more powerfull so if the keeper is out he can be surprised.
Stop putting the american championships because they don`t compare with the Romania championship or other that u missed in fifa2002 the players are lame and i`m sure a player from the turkey ch. or romania ch wouldn`t compare with one from out there.
There should be a special mode for each period of time if you want to play 90 minutes it should be harder to score a goal if you play minutes it should be easyer.
If a player like Zidane enters the pitch he should do better tricks than a lowest rated player on Ball Control.

That should do a good game but why do we post these? nobody listens no? I mean nobody goes in canada and shows this forum to EA Sports so we should not post them anymore

Does EA listen?

I wouldn't stop posting stuff. Sure they can't make all the changes we want but if there are lots that are similar it might stand out. Balancing difficult so you don't get high scores in 45 min halfs would be interesting...are you playing on World Class difficulty? Beginner is default, and it's super easy.

I agree man but let me correct you on something. EA's fifa staff is located in Vancouver Canada but EA is not a Canadian company. Their programmers aren't all Canadians. I know they have programmers from all over the world. Don’t blame it on the Canadians.

I don't blame the programmers. It is the people who designs and tests the game. They do not know how football should be played.

Hey I couldn't help noticing your spiderman avatar. It brings back 32 long minutes of bad memories. May be EA did the CGI scripts for the movie :( . Anyways 32minutes was how long i spent in the movie theatre watching spiderman. The rest of the remaining minutes i spent in a hall way with a bunch of guys complaining why hollywood attempted to ruin the image of spidy by making a crappy movie for easy money. Yes I know, it's off the topic for those who want to b*tch about EA, but i am tired complaining about EA. lets do somebody else.

check out this ROCK SOLID STUPID phrase-->
"I amm yourrr neighborhood spidermannnn"<---This sent me out of the theatre.
Yeah! I know it's in the comic books, but it's better to read it than hear it.

I come from Denmark and I think most danes and europeans would agree that the canadians are far more intelligent than the americans or for that sake any other nationality that resides within the american continent.

To blame the canadians for not being able to think is a great mistake. They may not know football by heart but than again, most europeans dont know much about icehockey.

It don`t want to blame it all on the canadians . After all they have progressed even by fifa2002 it is out there a small but good progress. But they should hire someone who does the ideeas like a retired football player who knows something about gameplay (HE REALLY SHOULD BE EUROPEAN). They should hire some guys to do faces like Zidane`s, Figo`s or Totti`s face but for all players some people should do that from the start of the project to the end of it without doing anything else.

Hey,
There are intelligent as well as stupid people in EVERY country. To make an immature comment like that obviously shows which side you fall on. To blame the problems of a computer game on someone's nationality is disgraceful and you should be embarrassed. Instead of wasting your time posting demeaning comments, get a life, get a programming job then make your own game to show us and EA what they are doing wrong!

As my grandmother used to say, " If you don't have anything nice to say about someone, shut the f**k up!".

Peace.

Yeah... lot's of Canadians are smart... but I've seen my fair share of bone-heads as well. For that matter, every country has their fair share.

I've been working as part of a Canadian-American-Mexican team over at FIFA CONCACAF for a while now, with some help from people all over the place. So I've got to say there's knowledgable and smart football people all over the North Central American continent.

There's been a couple of strange ones too (like the guy who complained that the Costa Rica flag wasn't as big as the Canadian/American/Mexican ones... I tried to explain artistic license and the fact that it was those three countries that "founded" FIFA CONCACAF .. but he just called me a racist... go figure).

As CANADIAN.10 said though.... EA Sports staff may be in Vancouver.. but they're not all Canadian. As I remember, a lot of the design and "consultation" was done in Europe anyway.

Dont blame the Canadians.

They are together with the Scandinavian countries and Holland the only ones to predict the future in terms of social, technogical and structural advancement.

The fact that most of WC 2002 developers are not canadians most likely confirm the lack of any form of soccer relation into wc2002

Given the revenue EA rakes in from its FIFA series, I think they should hire on consultant for each league represented in their annual game to ensure players are well-represented in terms of likeness and skill. Each league should also have a generic stadium representative of the size used in that league i.e. smaller stadiums for Belgian league.

I think this is also the year for EA to negotiate the license for the Argentinian league, given its economic problems (terrible thing to say, make an opportunity out of someone's fiscal troubles.)

My other suggestion for FIFA 2003 would be to build a big sampling of national sides, which would then allow EA to have a truly representative Rest of the World category and the World Club Championships. For example, you could make Tigres of Mexico, CD Olimpe of Honduras, Hearts of Oak from Ghana and Kaizer Chiefs from South Africa because the national team players weigh heavily in these clubs and reduces the work for the programmers in research and development. The same could be said about a Youth Championship - the players are all in the game anyway. To have the World Club Championships, you'd only really need about 16 new teams, especially from the underrepresented continents. For example, get the Argentinian league and Colo Colo from South America, some J-League sides and Dalian Shide for Asia, and a couple of Aussie and New Zealand clubs for Oceania. In club play, winning in Europe is the ultimate. Imagine being able to qualify for the WCC from MLS or Brazil or Korea. Would be cool. I'm one of those people who thinks the patchmakers do a great job, but find it a bit of a racket.

It would also be a good public relations exercise for EA to use a team of international consultants (avid gamers) to help in its development. It would really demonstrate the company's committment to producing a game for football fans, by football fans. An honorarium could be given a long the lines of two weeks with a toothless prostitute. Sound cool?

Anyway, Blame Canada is getting tired. Lots of sheep mentality around here.

I still maintain World Cup 2002 and FIFA 2002 were decent games that I enjoy, even though the series is still a work in progress. World Cup 2002 is a major evolution, and with a few tweaks FIFA 2003 will be the best yet. I think the marketplace is going to open up in the coming years with heightened competition, and the onus is on EA to produce an absolute masterpiece this winter.
