Will these things ever change?

i love the game as much as any of you and have been playing it extensively almost every day since release...

yet, i am starting to wonder if Konami will ever have a take at the following issues all of which seem to be old (and rather smelly) leftovers from the ISSPE days...

1) unfair CPU speed advantage
not as prominent as in PES2, but still annoying. i purchased a player from the "growth" list and gave him stellar settings (speed 99, accel 93, reaction 94)... needless to say he STILL is outpaced by your run-of-the-mill defender... when you play against him, tho, he will take off like a concorde..

2) related: infamous 180 degree CPU flick
you know the one i mean, don't you? CPU winger running towards the goal line and just before reaching it doing the 180 inside flip. usually so fast, that your defenders can't cope. 9 out of 10 cases (if you cover him. if you don't cover him he'll outrun you)

3) players still running for lost through balls
no comment. we are in -- what? like the 5th year of them doing that...

4) can't control player speed or direction while ball is in the air
long downfielder... can only reach it when i run fast. but player only reacts to my pressing R1 when the ball is on the ground or long since in possession of the CPU

5) throw ins.
both CF and FIFA have a better models than PES. why is there no analog direction, strength-of-pushing based throw in-- a powerbar like with shooting?

6) still no indirect free-kicks
why? doesn't even the evil FIFA have it?

7) keeper still can't drop ball
when still in game. why are keeper goal kicks not subject to the powerbar (or ar they)? why does the keeper sometimes refuse to throw the ball out and forces you to have him kick it?

i am sure there is more (damn biased referees for example) and again: it's not that i want to bash it. it's a great game. i just wish they'd be a bit more "inventive" so to say. hope that some of these things can be "patched away" in the PC version some day.

1) I don´t fell that as much, defenders do run fast because they don´t have the ball, but If I´m in front of them with say Ronaldo it takes them quite sometime to catch up, plus if you use R1+R2 to knock the ball in front you get some more speed

2) Annoying as hell, but I found out thta if you mark with R2 you can steal the ball well he goes back for the cross

3) Silly it should be fixed, but it should be up to you to run to the ball. Making the player stop could create a bug, lets say that i would be able to catch up to the ball but the player stops running, like in air balls

4) I just hate also on FK that if you try to move a foward to get a good counter he will not respond he will keep looking back. Same as for airballs.

5) I like the throw ins, there is analog controll since you control who is receiving and not whos throwing in PES3/WE7. Different than in WE6/PE2

6) Indirect, well if you have a good player near the box you can manage one. But there is no way to do a setpiece

7) I think they can, also when passing with your hands make sure you aim first to a player that is well open, if he is marked the keeper won´t pass at all.

you should press r1+r2 and you'll get full control of the player. Same for your next point. It's quite useful...

Yeah I was going to say that as well.. You should learn to use R1+R2 alot. Its very useful in getting ful control of the player.. I have even used to to get in front of defenders for headers that I was clearly going to be the loser in getting to.

super cancel (r1+r2) only works for me when the ball is about to roll out of bounds. it never ever does when there is a long ball which is staying infield.

go to training mode, shoot a long pass downfield and try to make the selected player stop run for it. it doesn't work.

i stand corrected if someone shows me the opposite.

It works for me everytime, and I play pretty much every day, I have used it in we6 FE and we7 all the time, the "break away" combo R1+R2 works great, in ANY situation (exept the times the keep has the ball and is about to throw it) But other then that I can use it when ever I want, crossed to get a better angle at the ball on passes, headers.. etc.. so your doing something wrong.

don't want to nag too much, but what exactly is "analog" in having but two choices (near and far). analog to me is being able to throw the ball to whichever spot i want in whichever direction i want (of course limited by the players individual throw-in ability)

when i am passing i want to have control over where i pass to. the RAS does a good job in that. why not have a similar function for the throwing with a powerbar (if i am not mistaken FIFA has that)...

Well hold down L1 and point tward another player and you can throw to him as well, you can try throwing to all 11 guys if you want, your not limited to just the one guy near you and you can throw to him, long, and through ball throw ins..

No offense mate, but I know for a fact it works in almost anysituation, specially the ones your decribing.. Your not used to it yet or your not doing it right.. But without r1+r2 I would be lost.. It adds so much more freedom to a already liberating game.

I have used in every situation.. one time on a long pass in the air, where the cpu was defending my striker, on my back ready to go for the ball, i press r1+r1, holding it, I then spin around him before the ball is even there.. he jumps but misses the ball completely, meanwhile I'm running freely toward goal, bbut mind you i do not have the ball and I could run right past it if I wanted to, it just rolled where physics takes it... I head toward pick it up and then slotted past the keep and then past the outside of the far post... what a horrible miss! :)

Also the goalies are crap on this game, i mean all keepers, not just seamen who is very accurately done, he cant handle crosses, ive scored like 5 corners past him in this game

The goalies are far far far from crap.. they are pretty damn good.. Your not going to get much support on that subject, from anyone here.

Playing on 5-star, PC Demo, I would agree that the goalies are pretty weak. They seem to be horrible on balls struck to the near post, and very often will miss shots that travel just to either side of their standing position. Yet, when shots have been further away, they seem to dive and make the stop. It's almost as if the AI doesn't know the goalie needs to take just a small step left or right to make an easy save. Instead he swats at the ball while standing in the same position, and misses.

I hoping I'm doing an OK job of articulating what I've seen. Does that make sense?

exactly, i take a shot and it might be soft and right near the goalie but still manages to get in and this doesnt happen 10 % of the time it happens like 70 % of the time

I agree... I see goalies makes some ncie saves, eventhe close ones to the sides of him.. When you leave the goal stranded, one on one, even close shots can get by him. like a pk, one on ones favor the shooter far far more.

I hate the demo ref and he obviously hates me,example...
I did a low cross in to my forward standing in the penalty area
he was right in perfect space with no one infront of him,
this big old defender comes flying in from BEHIND and SHOULDER CHARGES my forward right into the ground before the ball had even gotten to him! I waited for the red card (yellow at the least!) and the penalty kick...nothing...NOTHING...damn ref didnt do a thing...I'm sick of these damn cheating refs!
