Windows XP bug?

I have a strange bug on CM01/02 since installing windows XP

When playing, sections of the screen move themselves horizontally until the screen refreshes, and then they move back. This happens at random times. Anyone else got this problem?

As XP is a very graphic intensive OS...This tends to happen..

I've been running xp for over a year now and play 01-02 almost constantly. I've never had this problem!!! Hows the spec of your pc?

athlon 1.4ghz
768mb ddr ram
geforce 3 ti500

spec's not a problem.. maybe its the det 40's

I have been playing on XP for a year - no problems - until I upgraded my GeForce256 last week. My new ATI8500DV card keeps crashing when playing.....aaaaarrrrrgggghhh.
I guess your problem is hardware related also.

I have seen that before
were you running windows media?
that tends to happen when you run other programs at the same time.

i run wmp9 at the same time as cm01/02 sometimes, but not every time, and the corruption happens every time.

i have also tried playing cm01/02 with all unnecessary processes terminated but it still happens.

Oh well, it doesnt stop me from playing the game, just causes minor irritation.

CM4 will be fine i'm sure

Its strange becuase no-one else who runs XP and plays Champ man seems to have this problem, it must be something like it doesn't like your graphics card. There must be some sort of conflict somewhere like another program has patched one of your windows ddl files which has caused this change on your screen

lol didnt i give you that exact same advice for a problem you were having a while back?? something about kazaa or something ??

Yep! Its the only thing I could think of though!
It is a very rare problem, but i've never seen it go like that before have you checked your device manager in the system properties of the control panel, your software might be corrupted for your monitor maybe

i have that same problem. Although, I only encountered it after downloading and installing an nvidia graphics display thingy. Then i started having problems, even after i deleted it. I don't think xp is the problem, it should be solvable. If you find out how, let me know pls.

yeah, could be the detonators, i'm using some from the new 40x series, not really worth going back to older drivers for the sake of one game though, all my others play very nicely with them. I would go back temporarily to see if they are the cause, but i've had bad experiences of changing drivers unnecessarily.

lol, i was going to say that, my mate at work is quite good with computers, (i am but not as much), and he said that you should check the drivers etc
