Windows, XP or 2000?

I'm wondering which i should put on my PC, im currently going with 2000 because i can get it free. But whats your opinion please?

i use 2000 and i like it very much. but i don't install xp just because my pc is kind of old and that authentication thing on xp really annoys me.

Its actually that my PC got a bit buggered with a virus so im gonna reformat the Hard Drive. I've still got the disc from when my dad bught it.

i would get XP but my dad who is a programmer says its sh!te(but then again all microsoft's stuff is) and its too expensive.

Get the 2000 free, sell it and buy XP

I used to have 2000, and I upgraded to XP, and I personally prefer it though the difference is pretty aesthetic, as far as I'm concerened anyway.

Well, I finally got the windows disc so ive reinstalled windows 2000, f**k xp, 2000 is far superior. Anywyas, ive now joined the queue to kill bill gates, the complete and utter w*nker

since i got xp i've been really impressed. It speeded up alot of my games......but an upgrade from 98 would do i suppose

SP2 is crap, my mates got it and it ups the security to a stupidly high level. For example, he was downloading updates from microsoft and when it aasked him if he wanted to save the file it said: " Are you sure you trust the publisher of this file?". Now thats just stupid.

That should help. I'd go for XP if you have >128mb RAM.

Well, I got XP Pro today, perfectly legally *cough*. I prefer it to 2000, apart fro when something goes wrong. Its often a b**tard to fix it
