Although the actually winning eleven videogame series as a product is better then fifa even without a full license, the product seems incredibly mismanaged. This is a prime example how Konami is not a very good company when it comes to management and profit maximizing. Honestly, their are so many copies of the game that cannot be bought in certain areas that it creates a huge modding community that just burns the game due to convinience.
Also, this is by far the biggest year in soccer it being a world cup year instead of providing north america with an older version of a game with no real international mode why not release a game around the time of the world cup, especially since they have a game in the works and ready to go in japan.
It has become increasingly evident that fifa is closing the gap in terms of gameplay and if konami doesnt realize that they need to start managing their product better and release the best version possible all over the world, they are giong to be surpassed in the next few years. For those who do not think this is possible, look to see wat happen to Madden when NFL 2k hit the market.

Konami if u can hear this wake up and please release a world cup version. Their is a demand for it, and to add to all this its a bit rediculous that WE is behind in terms of globalization. Come on now its not that difficult to release products all over the world at the right time if anything it will help sales.

Is this really true? I stopped playing FIFA a couple of years ago when I switched over to WE7I but I would seriously consider going back to FIFA next year cause Konami have gotten worse. PES 5 is sh!t compared to WE7I.

Fifa is improving its gameplay...

But ultimately, their gameplay engine as a whole is awful, and irrepairably unrealistic.

There are many things we take for granted when playing PES/WE...

A friend of mine just switched back to Fifa for the 1st time to play network games with another friend... in just 2 hours, he was beating him 9-0.. 12-0... And he hasn't played Fifa'06 before...

This is Fifa... know how to score the goal and u'll always be scoring the same way(s).

KONAMI may really be irritating at these many issues brought up in this and many other threads. But still, there are many thigns we ake for granted when playing PES/WE gameplay-wise.

Yes, konami has great gameplay, but this cant always be used to defend konamis and WE glaring weaknesses. Instead of trancending the sport in terms of videogames, which in the past years the series has been known for, Konami is driving winning eleven into mediocracy. Yes, the gameplay is fantastic, but to truly enjoy the game their needs to be balance which both fifa and winning eleven cannot seem to understand. Also, by releasing a superior copy of the series to the asian and european markets when the north american market just recieved we9 shows how konami mistreats north american fans as a whole. Winning eleven in NA is relatively new and to impress new gamers to the product it would make more sense to treat us with the same respect as the other parts of the world.

Again if we keep defending winning eleven's gameplay and always stick up for this flawed product then we will never receive the best product possible. If you expect mediocracy then thats exactly what we will pay for.

all that info and the cover are dodgy i recon, if the graphics have been pushed to the limit then how come they can have moving hair andn 3d crowds? u do know how hard that would be for the massive stadiums in soccer to be filled with a 3d crowd and for it to all show at a smooth rate on a current gen system. i'm not saying its impossible but for a soccer ngame hardly likely on current gen. plus that cover is pure crap, i think konami would be able to do better, my dog could do better than that, but still hoping for the best with this game

This could be it, a WC mode in WE 10. I don't see any league licenses on the front cover, so, this might be it !

- International Challenge mode, allowing you to take any side through all the qualifications for a World Cup.

- Passing, shooting and through balls have all become 'simpler' allowing more fluid gameplay.

- Referee's are less likely to give free-kicks for niggly fouls.
