Well, that is NEWS!

My Portuguese is not very good, but when reading through the factsheet I can make some things out. Master League will have 40 teams and 3 divisions. There will be a new training mode. There something about a new graphical system. Is there anyone here that can really translate this sheet?

What I think of it: there will be no PES-club edition next year. I think the cup and league options will stay virtually the same (or am I missing something?) But, for me the GREAT GREAT GREAT asset of the next installment is the option to edit TEAMS. It will really add a lot to the fun I have with the game.

What do you think?

just go to the site he told, you'll see the release is also on the 25th april...and i'm quite sure it will be like we 2000 with international teams...

btw here's the news summarized and translated :

Today in a press conference in Tokyo, Konami officialy announced the release of Winning eleven 6 on the 25th april 2002. Also announced the release of Winning Eleven 2002 (for PSX and gamboy advance) at the same date.
The major improvements of WE6 are a new graphical system with better and smoother animations, better dribbling techniques. Also the master league will now be consisting of 40 teams in 3 divisions ! And also you will be able to loan players too, these player will also be able to evolute with the time. Thanks to their license, Konami will be able to put the real names of the players in the games (except the brazilian sides).

btw by hearing all those features and changes from previous games, it doesn't sound rushed at all.
And also i don't think they're competing with easport's wc2002 because winning eleven is supposed to be released in Japan only, and i think there few japanese who play fifa...

Winning Eleven 6

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Deliverer: Konami
Programmer: Konami Tokyo
Category: Sport
Platform: Playstation
Date of Launching: 25 of April 2002 (Japan)
Last update: 20/02/2002

Winning Eleven 6 officially was announced in a conference today in Tokyo. Perhaps between some surprises, the greater is the revelation of a version, with another name, for the old PSOne.

Winning Eleven 6 will leave for Playstation 2 in day 25 of April. In this same date arrives the versions for PSOne, called Winning Eleven 2002, and for Gameboy Advance. The star of the layer, that makes ugly face in the game of Gameboy Advance, is Masafumi Nakayama, player of the Jubilo Iwata.

It confers all the confirmed details already on the game of Playstation 2, Winning Eleven 6:

"We Will Rock You" and "We're the Champions", of the Queen, is part of the sonorous track;

New graphical system with three times more pictures of animation that in the previous game of the series (WE5 FE);

Players necessarily shaped;

Kicks and you dribble possible in high speed;

Perspective change automatically during the game;

Equal system of abilities to the one of WE5 FE;

Way Master League now has 40 teams, and goes until the third division;

It is possible not alone to contract players, as to make loans in the Master League;

Some players can develop its abilities with the time;

It is possible to edit the uniforms and names of the teamses;

New way of trainings;

Real names for all the elections of the world, less the Brazilian;

Presentation with more than 2 minutes of duration;

The game is in CD-ROM;

New ball of the Adidas, the Fevernova, in the game.

Photos and information you add (which Brazilian teamses are between the 40 of the Master League) they are waited for briefing. It is of eye in its Outer.

hmmm, I'm not very encouraged by what I have read...not that I can speak Portuguese

But the list of new features of the games begins with the fact that "We WIll Rock You" by Queen will feature. This is hardly a feature which holds even the slightest interest to me.

The Master League will now feature 40 teams..40??? wtf ?? what a joke. That's 8 more than PES. So maybe by 2006 we'll finally have a reasonable number of teams.

This reeks of EA style corporate greed....feed them a few extra crumbs every new edition but never give them a truly definitive product.

A new training mode...big deal....I spend so much time using the training mode :rolleyes:

...and there's something about something which will last 2 minutes in duration....probably my excitement at the prospect of a tiny step forward from PES.

If this is all the next PES will have to offer, my money stays in the bank.

F*ck konami.

ok, I've just read the tranlated version now

it sounds like there may be some promising features but it still falls way short of where it should be

arthur,

I'm with you, this sounds like some EA Sports'-esque cash cow bullsh!t. I know it will be an improvement upon WE5:FE but not a large one and like you I'm disapointed in the # of teams. On the bright side though it's on CD-ROM which is good for North Americans who are out in the cold when it comes to PES and have to mod & import.

I'm pretty underwhelmed with this announcement - which is a surprise to me because any new PES/WE info usually makes me wet my pants in anticipation.

Wel when it comes to the iss series there's only a few things they really can improve on. The main two being # of teams and editing options. They are giving us one of the major two. Also a few more teams. They are also improving gameplay and graphics (something we expect to here and not get from fifa, but know this will be quality things from konami). I agree it seems disappointing because it seems that the addition of teams can't be too hard. But i assume since they don't even have the brazilian league players license, they are waiting to get a world wide deal like fifa and give it to us within a few years.
Who can blame them for releasing it at the same time as wc2002 anyway (if that is the reason)? Maybe they need the cash to buy the license to make us happy < eventually more $$ for them:). i think they need to release something to make sure those kids going to pick up a game after gettinga dose of world cup fever have the choice of WE over WC.

"F*ck konami. "

Say what? I don't give a sh*t whether the next edition isn't all that different. Konami has given the public outstanding soccer titles for a few years now. We5FE/PES are indefinitely playable as it is, so WTF? F*ck Konami? Holy sh*t man, this sounds like the FIFA forum. For shame...:confused:
