And as far as KONAMI squeezing money out of people - we've been over this many times. :)

I for one have no problem paying $100 a year for two Winning Eleven games.

Hell, I would pay even more if the American release wasn't just a port of the Euro version which is a port of the first Jap version. ;)

I know you may not like it Ric but that's how it is. You can choose not to buy it. :)

And in reply to the closed thread - I agree with you, PS2 may be garbage and toilet paper whatever you called it but the fact is, as long as it gets new exclusive WE games, there ain't no reason to get rid of it.

Plus, Gran Turismo 4 is coming out this week!!!!!!!!! :mrpimp: :rockman:

WOW!!!

This version of the game is clearly 1,000,000,000,000,000 times better than WE8JL!!

As per usual, Konami have completely rewritten the AI and the results are a game that is literally shight-years ahead of the previous incarnation.

I can hardly wait to try it because I can tell by the new ad-boards that the gameplay is now 130% better than the previous version, even though the previous version was perfection x 100.

OK, now I have to go and have a wank before I can even think about how much better this is than the previous PERFECTION that they produced.

It's amazing how perfection becomes absolute shight when Konami decide to release a new version of their game which is precisely 0.005% different from their previous version of 1,000,000,00,000 perfection.

Hi everybody,

So here are some first impressions about WE8LE:
Let’s say first that the game is without any question better than its predecessors.
Better graphics (even if it’s not shocking), big improvement in the motion of players…Game speed is more slow though…

And as it has been already said by this Greek guy who could play the soft a couple of days ago NO MORE SLOWDOWN!!!
About the game play, NICE surprise to see that the “old” throw in system is back!
Body balance seems more effective (watch out!Adriano has 98-99!! And push everything away!! J)
Another interesting point here:
Suppose everybody remember about this move just pushing R2 in order to direct the player automatically to the opponent goal.

The “unrealistic” side of this move was, although the player was dashing he stopped right away keeping a perfect balance and putting his foot on the ball!

A trick which was so efficient for the ball keeper and quite annoying for the opponent who was trying to get the ball…
This time, each time you push R2, your player will stop sure, but since you’re doing it while a running (even without pushing the dash button), it takes a short distance to stop completely and stop the ball. And in my point of view that makes for sure, the move less efficient than before.

Other BIG point here, the loop shoot 2 (pushing R2 while shooting) seems not working the same way this time!!
I assume a lot of players used it to score, by putting the ball over the keeper’s hands…
I tried this shoot twice during my games and the ball was just floating at a middle high level, which was far from worrying the goal keeper.

I guess from now on, this shoot should be used at the very last moment when the GK comes to tackle you…I’m afraid there won’t be no more far side use …L

Hope I’m just mistaking here…

Of course could not try the new Ronaldhino Flip-Flap move…No idea about the command of this one??If someone knows…??

The concerned command will certainly show up in a couple of weeks in a Famitsu mag. or something like that…
Well, that’s all for the moment …nothing to add…excepting the fact that the delayed release date was (as many of you guessed) due to some network problem with the online mode …
Will get back to you later about “how to play the online mode of WE8LE from Europe” cause I’m almost sure it should work…expensively though.

what i want to know is if you get carded if you pull the opponent. In pes4 you can even pull down an attacker when hes going 1on1 without a red card.

Yeah, I once pulled an opponent and to my surprise, I got a yellow card. It was a minor foul and it wasn't even near my goal. Tackle from behind you will most of the time get a red card, and you'll get a red card for sure if you tackle behind near your goal. I get it alot since I always get so frustrated when playing against the AI :kader:

He is a very helpfull user and you only wrote Spam in every thread i open here on SG

It depends on what referee you have. They all have different levels of strictness and card-showing. They are posted somewhere, out of 3 for both.

Based on the previous versions, no, the names will still be in Japanese.

If you have your old WE8 OptionFile, they'll be in English. ;)
