I played We9 (about 30 games) and its a very good game!
But there are few things i dont like in this Winning Eleven version:
-there ref is whisteling for every body contact !
-but when cpu makes the same body contact,he just continues the game !
-the cpu steals the ball very easy from my foot,but I CAN'T do the same(in we8 it was easier)
-Every bouncing ball arrives in feet of cpu!
Anyway...its an awesome game! Its more difficult now to beat the cpu! I like that!
But its not fair anymore!(referee and bouncing ball advantage cpu)

Ok,i watched the first half of the gameplay match video ( http://pro-g.co.uk/news/nid/933/1244/ ) and i really want to ask you.....Is this your fantastic soccer???Damn,just watch the f*cking movement of the players.It's so unrealistic.I want lively movement.Just watch the idiotic goals,oh god what the hell is wrong with these guys??Do they think that the goalkeepers are just there to sit??Pffffffffffff i knew that it would basically be a PES4 update,but you were saying that it's great etc.Just play PES3 and compare the movement and the passing.The only think PES3 doesn't have is good goalkeepers............but from the videos it seems that PES5 has worse.This year i'll give Fifa a chance as that is what PES is all about now.Stick to the previous versions of this simulation soccer.Right now it's a mix of arcade and simulation.What a shame really.

John... i watched the movies too, and I can tell u for sure this is AT MOST on a 3* difficulty. That explains the goalkeeper and defense's weakness. Everybody who played the game says its far more difficult than WE8... these videos are definetly a 3* if not less...
And seriously... Fifa?? You're complaining that WE is now half arcade half simulation, so ur considering Fifa now, that is a 100% arcade, and not even a good one?
I strongly suggest u download the video footage EA has hand picked from the game, on www.fifa06.com its just really sad... there's a goal where the ball is literally PASSED into the net... not to mention the ball that is sticking to the players feet as they 'float' thru the pitch... I mean these are hand-picked, rendered movies by EA.. and the goals they chose are really nauseating.

1. Gameplay.
The first thing to notice is the change of the gameplay speed, a litle bit slower in all motions, turning accelerating ect. But that is just a good improvement. You get FEELING a lot more. The dribling is a bit harder, but in my opinion a lot more fun and much more realistic. There is a variety of new tricks and moves. I'm sure i have'nt seen them all. The movement of the players is just like watching real-life football. All the litle details in the motion is a great improvement from last years edition. Some refs are crap and others not. Just like in real life.
The shooting and the freekicks have been improved a lot too. But you still can get a crapy shot with Stevie G or lampard. Hit one from 35 yards with lampard, think it was midlerange, but dont know, and it went in of the post in a flickering pace. Bouncing back in the net on the other side, and my god, it was a fast shot.
The freekicks look much easier to score from, got one in my first night, like in pes4 it took me some days to score from a freekick.
The passing is a bit harder, and you have to look more for clear passes, and take more in acount in what direction your player is facing.
And there have been drastic improvements on the long passes (not crosing), THEY ACTUALY WORK. So does the crosses.
The overall gameplay has been taken up a notch. The navigation of menus is not so unlike in the other games. You get the hang of it pretty quickly . And many improvemnts in ML, but i've not finished one season so far in ML.
The editing is very cool, boot editor alongside good kit editor.
You can now also have the option to play on a snowy pitch, and that gives the game something more, an extra spice to already fine game.
2. Graphics
The cutscene in the begining of the game is awsome.
The graphics are amazing, though some players could be more look-a-like them self. New cutscenes in gameplay, showing the fans cheering like never before, and injured players lying on the pitch during gameplay, and getting of when the ball goes out for touch. There is still some unlicensed teams, but they've got license for Chelsea and Arsenal . There are still the same licensed teams as in pes4.
But far as im concerned it does'nt matter, it's still the same gameplay, and that's what counts.
3. Overall valuation.
This is THE GAME, no doubt about it. For all footy fans out there, if you have'nt play we/pes series, you are missing out of so much fun, action, joy, cheers, sadness, irritation, and the list goes on. But that is what makes this game so special, you get the FEELING! No two games or goals are the same. Unlike fifa, you just find the spot to score from, and you score maybe 60%-70% from that spot. "So real life" Hmm. This game is second to none, problably the best game i've ever played on ps2.
If you dont got this game, buy it from where ever, and if you cant play imported games on your console, buy mod chip. Thats what i did, and it was worth it.

As i said from the videos it seems like an upgrade of PES4 and the movement reminds me of PES4 and it's not the difference we saw between PES3 and PES4 or any other newest version of PES compared to the previous one.I'm pretty sure after a while we'll find spots from where to score goals (anyone remember the long shots of PES4??Oh no?Check the best gif goals then.What happened to the non-linear scoring??Ohhhhhh i see,the reviewers didn't have so much time).I don't have high expectations from PES5 to be honest though and that's why i'll give Fifa a try.Now i don't say that Fifa is better,damn the only Fifa i liked is Fifa98 but what the f*ck??If i don't like both Fifa's new version or PES5 i'll surely stick to PES3 as someone ironically said.........but keep in mind that these guys praising PES5 may start first complaining about it
Konami has lost it's way.Now i don't care for fanboys claiming every new version as the best.I want to play a hard simulation soccer game.And PES4 isn't and it's not it's difficulty.Even when i win i don't have the satisfaction of PES3,i can save a match and show you all these "bugs" but most of us know them.And from the videos PES5 seems like PES4 sadly.So i guess i'll find out when the PC version is released,but i'm not holding my breath as i was with PES3 and this is a sad thing for Konami.I hope to be proved wrong though,it will be a nice suprise this........but we'll see

well with PES6 coming up on the next genre, I suppose KONAMI focused this year on small gameplay details and fixes, to save the graphical improvement for the next genre PES/WE... which I believe is a very smart move. Focus on gameplay in PES5, and graphics in PES6.... so when u watch a movie, well, the things u notice at once are the movements, models, pitch,.... mostly graphic/related issues, and from this prespective, it will surely seem as if it's merely an upgrade of PES4. But from all the first impressions on www.pesinsight.com, they say the game is totally different (some are complaining) u'll have to get used to everything all over again, starting from basics like passing.. shooting etc. And that's not something u hear after each PES/WE release. If you want to see an extreme makeover, I suppose u'll have to wait for the next genre version of the game.
Guys, I`ve said many times over..and over again....don`t ever judge a game by some videos you`ve seen. PES4 compared to WE9 its like comparing Toyota to BMW. The gameplay is much more nicer and everything is better.
Other thing I`m getting tired of is people who didn`t even play WE9 telling its a small upgrade from PES4, well its not. People that played WE9 know that I`m right.
I highly believe WE/PES has reached its limit on PS2 for better gameplay and other things we will have to wait for next gen consoles and thats that.
