winning games means elimination?????????

In the CM4 demo I've got,Manchester United(team i control) wins 3 matches out of 4 in the european champions cup,draws the other and tops the table with a g.d. of +8.Then,it says Manchester United have been knocked out of the European Champions Cup just after I have won 6-0!!!!!
What the crap is this??????????!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

when ever i play i final and win it, cm4 allway wrote knocked out in cup final.
