I think the .afs one is to do with the ML while the one in the 1.10 patch folder is to do with online. The one in folder1 is just the general gameplay one.

I'm going to release the whole .afs file with it in and some updates soon. I'm updating some things in the FM2005 option file and some other stuff in the .afs so it'll be about a week. Then I'll just upload the whole .afs to FileFront so it'll just be a copy and paste job.

I used to think that once you have installed the patch, only data stored in the para_we8 stored there is read, but I may be mistaken.

However, something very important I discovered is that the memory space reserved by the game to load this data is based on the slot size for the file in the afs file. It means that, in the common case where your new file is bigger than the original, you have to insert it also in the afs, in order for the slot to be big enough.

If you don't do it, the game won't crash, but some data won't be read, resulting in such corrupting as wrong numbers, or teams holding unregistered or random players.

Has anybody using my news WE8:I 2005 patch had any problems? I included the already patched 0_text.afs in there and so far nobody has said there's been an issue with messed up data or anything!

There has been about 20 guides posted across the threads in the last few days.

The method I used was:

1 - Use AFS Explorer to open 0_text.afs
2 - Highlight the para_we8.bin file in the afs and select import file.
3 - AFS EXplorer will say there is not enough space and would you like to reserve space. Say yes.
4 - Use AFS Explorer to regerate the .afs. Save it to the desktop.
5 - Now open the new .afs with AFS Explorer.
6 - Import the para_we8.bin into the new afs.
7 - Use the new afs in the dat folder and take the old one out.

If this doesn't work I don't know what to suggest because this is how I did it with PES4 and WE8:I and it worked fine.

The new .afs that was created when you regenerated the old one from AFS Explorer. It asks you to save a new .afs.
