can you believe that the 2010 World Cup draw is almost upon us? man, time is flying ...

the draw will be made on December 4th, which is this Friday, in South Africa ...

my hopes are "simple":

- Holland gets a decent group, but avoids being in the proverbial Group of Death for the 5th straight tournament ...

- Cameroon gets a decent group, and avoids being in the Group of Death ...

- Spain gets a decent group, though I think they can handle a Group of Death ...

- Lippi's Italian selection must find themselves in the Group of Death, to ensure a swift death to Lippi's tenure via early elimination ...

Geographical Rule Enforced for the Draw
No two teams from the same confederation will be drawn in the same group (except European teams, where a maximum of two will be in a group). So, South Africa cannot play the African teams from Pot 3, and Argentina and Brazil cannot be drawn against the three remaining South American teams.

Couldn't agree more. I hope Lippi gets his *ss handed to him. I've never cheered against Italy, but watching his side and his ludicrous exclusion of Italy's best talent(Cassano) makes me hope he fails big time. From the Confed cup debacle, to gettin our *sses handed to us by Brazil in London, and our 'great' WC qualifying campaign where we were impotent bar Kakha Kaladze scoring for us, problems have been extremely evident. We're slow, we can't create, and our midfield has been run over numerous times. Yet, Lippi seems to see no problems. And when I hear that Amauri will get a call up whenever he gets his Italian passport, that makes me even more mad. We have room for a greasy brazilian mercenary, but none for Cassano, Miccoli, Gio, or Balotelli. He's ignored youth, and when we know that our midfield will be comprised of Pirlo and Camo(both great players in their time, but everyone gets older) it doesn't make me excited at all.

I can't wait for after the WC, because hopefully we could get a younger coach who isn't afraid of bringing in youth and speed and letting go of the old guard, and showing the world that Italy can attack.

yeah .. this is the real shyt everyone on the planet is waiting .. the World Cup .. we (Brazil) are going to win it once again of course but I aspect the other teams to put on a good fight as well .. all I want is a group with either France or Germany and we will have no problem butchering them ..
Also a duel between us and Cameroon would be interesting ..oh well .. let's wait and see what the future holds .. hope we can bring the World Cup back where it belongs ..BRAZIL !!!

England qualified with 2 games left to play. France were gifted a seeding in the play offs, which in itself was very suspect. Even the French know it.
