England aren't in my ideal scenarios, but they make it to the quarters when I outline the matches based on relative strength on paper -- though that's largely thanks to an exceptionally favourable draw ...

but England-Germany in the Second Round? you think Germany will finish runner-up in their Group? or that the USA will pip the Englanders to top spot in Group C?

That's my hope, anyway. It'd make for the most fun watching, IMO. Realistically, it's likely going to be USA v. Germany and England v. Ghana or possibly Australia. But who wants to see the English face one of their old colonies? Oh, wait...

If history has taught us anything, Portugal will probably beat Brazil, then lose to North Korea and Cote d'Ivoire. It seems they only take top competition seriously, then look like ass vs. teams they should run through.. and this coming from a Portugal fan.
