World Football Stadiums & Google Earth Guide

I'm surprissed this has not been posted yet!

I was doing some research this morning ( ), I found this group of people on the net, that are categorizing and adding the locations of all the football stadiums around the world on to a simple guide using Google Earth.

This is really fantastic, I was thinking of doing this, but I never though some one had already done it on such a large scale!

What it is, Google Earth allows for places to be "bookmarked" on the side bar, so you can zoom in onto famous places, or places you like, so they "bookmarked" every single mayor football stadium, divided that into Federetions>Countries>Leagues>Sub-Divisions, as a guide.

Right now they have 3570 stadiums included.

They also included second division stadiums, and so on down, all the way to minor divisions. Like other divisions for the MLS, MFL, Premiership.

Here's what you need to see it:
Google Earth:

And their Placemark file:

Just save the placemark file, and open it with Google Earth, or double click on it.

Examples:

Quite interesting, I can finally know exactly where the teams Guadalajara will be playing on Libertadores really are!

it leaves out Croke Park where the Irish national team will be playing from 2007 while Lansdowne is being re-developed. If anyone is looking for it go to Tolka Park (Shelbourne FC) and it is the big stadium not to far from it.

I know a friend who happens to be a map enthusiast. The dude lives on the google maps page. It's his porn.....his only source for sexual gratification.

Honestly, I ain't kidding, man. I occasionly join in on his wild adventures and make some interesting suggestions on possible spots we can check out and stuff.

I heard google is starting to update their satellite database.

So changes should come up soon. (Y)

this is pretty sweet, i tried doing this myself a while ago, with just the premier leage and la liga teams, and it was hard.

i noticed myself they have updated some of their database, hull cit has actual photos now. I didm't know their were portuguese teams that play in the middle of the atlantic.
