I was thinking and as the VB series is a decendant of the WSC of the 1970s it should be called the VB World Series. What do you guys think of that? I liked the name of the world series, it actually means that some parts of the world play!

um no glorious that would be pretty gay, only if there was about 5 teams could you think about calling it a world series

well i think it would be great as i grew up during the time of world series cricket. It was removed because they changed sponsors from B&H to Carlton. I like it being WSC plus the VB sponsor.

Thats the silliest thing Ive ever heard...The series used to be called "World Series", so infact it would be puting the name back to what it was, BEFORE it was changed....

As for celitc: Its a World Series, it was the original World Series of One Day cricket..Not a World Cup, and NOT a World Championship, but it doesnt insinuate that it is...It includes teams from around the world, and they change every year...So the original name of World Series is perfectly valid...

I dunno why they got rid of it really :rolleyes:

From Benson and Hedges World Series (and prior to that Benson and Hedges World Series Cup), to Carlton and United Series, to VB Series...

C and U/VB World Series is what it should have been...

alex i never said it was a world cup, i said there is no reason imo to change it back, but i wouldnt really care either way if it was changed back
