yeah, I know what you mean, eh? I was once witness to a mugging of a casual friend (knife point) near by my school's soccer fields by these two punk mother****ers from another school in the 10th grade, and, and.....I did absolutely nothing about it, man. I just completely froze on the spot (just enough of a distance away so they couldn't see me) and became totally pussified, man, while this poor ****er got his wallet emptied, slapped around, and get punched repeatedly. I was so terribly frightened, ashamed and felt so unmanly that I still get this sick feeling at the pit of my stomach roughly 7yrs later, man.

I just replay the incident in my head from time to time thinking that I could've done something about it or whatever, man. I'm pretty sure that time has distorted that moment to a degree, but I still feel that I should've been able to come to his aide because they weren't all that physically imposing or nothing....just two overly aggressive mother****ers with a blade of some sort.


Anyway, I couldn't live with myself if I were that kid in the video, man. Watching a fellow workmate (and presumably friend) get beaten half to death like that infront of my own eyes while all I did about it was flail my arms about and wag my fingers would eat at me raw for the rest of my life, man.

well, I think most people would have done the same as you in that situation (wether they admit it or not) especially if there's a weapon involved.. I guess you gotta make an on-the-spot decision if it's really worth interviening. Potentially get stabbed in the neck or something just to keep a guy from losing a few bucks from his wallet...I dunno man, I think I would have just let nature take it's course in that situation too.

Seeing a woman get beatdown by 1 dude is different though, I think in that situation you gotta do something. Even if it's just get in the way or distract the guy until more help arrives.

good point. My friends and I were chilling near the woods and I'd decided to go for a piss take and just stumbled upon that situation.....I could've called for assistance from my buddies and we could've scared 'em off....ATLEAST, or have engaged the ****ers and soundly pummeled 'em, but I just stood there in shock staring at this poor dude who I took a class or two with get thrashed.

I don't know, man, not that I was ever close with this dude or nothing, but that shouldn've come into my decision making in the first place anyway, because I'd like to think that if I were ever in that same situation and someone else was witnessing it that they'd come to my defence......


I couldn't look at 'em or myself the same way again for some time, man.

so that guy was a cop, too? :| first I would've given him a quick scan to see if he had a gun or any other dangerous weapon, if he didn't then I would've at least attempted to jump kick him in his head or something. if he did have a gun, I would've pussied out for sure, I figure if he does that to a girl for not giving him a drink he wouldn't hesitate to kill me for trying to fracture his skull :(
