I just finished reading the "New Fifa gamez suck" thread and i was horrified in seeing how blind some of you really are!!! Im a HUGE FIFA game series fan, I got all the FIFA games since from the 97 one to the most impressive one 2003. I know a lot about soccer and since I'm a real true fan of the sport, I watch a lot of soccer games and also play a lot of it. I have to admit...FIFA 98 RTWC was my favorite game in the series UNTIL FIFA 2003 took over...yes people FIFA 2003 took over!!!!!!!! FIFA 2003 has gigantically improved above its precedents in every way possible, 1. the graphics, if you have a real good 3d card you'll automatically see what im referring. 2. the details.. the ACTUAL UP TO DATE roster, the REAL faces, REAL uniforms, REAL stadiums with chanting crowds and detailed flags..come on wat more do u want!!?? seriously!! 3. the gameplay, the gameplay is by far the most impressive upgrade in 2003, the players ACTUALLY move like REAL life players, this is the closest thing to a real soccer game that exists, the moves, the dribble, the fakes, ....etc i can go on and on but I hope you get the idea, hopefully! 4. physics, the players have to ACTUALLY recieve and touch the ball with their foot to gain possession of it, and not just get near it like the old fifa games which was ridiculous! Same goes with the players, in the previous series the players would either go and run through each other, or knock somebody down with a slidetackle that had no interaction with the other player wat so ever, come on folks get with the program! WTF is the problem???!! These are ust a few of the reasons why this game is so impressive and the best one yet in the series, if you don't like the direction EA sports is taking with the fifa series(specially 2003), something is seriously wrong, you should email them and telling em to stop making fifa games so you (people) wont have to bitch about the new ones cuz they "suck"!.

If FIFA 2003 is WAY TOO REAL for some of you and can't handle it for some unstrange reason, then just go back and play ur old fifa games ( that is if you decide to keep living in the past), but don't come saying that FIFA 2003 is a "bad game" or " almsot comes close to FIFA 98 rtwc" ...LMAO these are really some bs reasons. SERIOUSLY wtf is wrong with you people!!!??LEMME HEAR SOME REAL AND SPECIFIC REASONS WHY THIS GAME IS "NOT SO GOOD"!

There is no doubt that the graphics of FIFA 2003 are the best ever. However, those who stick with FIFA RTWC 98, would never set that as the number one priority, like you just did...
The feeling you get when you PLAY the game is what counts.
But sorry, I don't want to write too much now since I haven't even played FIFA 2003. I gave up on the series after I tried ISS Pro Evolution 2 on an emulator.
Now I play PES2, Winning Eleven 2002 and FIFA RTWC 98 since these are the games that give me the most satisfaction.
And since there still are so many complaining on FIFA 2003 I don't know if I'm even gonna try FIFA 2003. I might. But I've done that too many times in the past and it has never been worth it (after '98).

You know what I'd like in a football game? Total customization. This mean customizable tactics, this means flexible international selection. This was only possible with FIFA 98. Period.

obviously you have never tried some of the more recent patches that have been released for the older games.

for instance
Fifa 98: official fifartwc update
fifa99: fifapak _pl (polish patch)

these patches give u the latest squads and in some cases increase the quality of graphics and gameplay.

we are not suggesting that it looks as good as 03, but since when has that been how to distinguish between games.

not all of us can afford the latest versions, and are happy with what we have, so have no need to try others.

Ill start off with NIKE the Bike, nike the bike fifa rtwc 98 is a GREAT game, dont get me wrong, it was all i played till 2003 came out. I was just like you, i didnt want to try any other fifa titles because deep in my heart i knew that they would all suck, so i stuck with 98 UNTIL 2003 came out. After hearing all the hype about it and all the info i wasnt really convinced with it because i thought it was going to be a major downfall like the rest fifa games after 98. Once i tried it i was STUNNED! and all the hype about it was completely worth it. I can now say my favorite two soccer games are: Fifa 2003 comes first and 98 comes second. So i say nike the bike, it wouldnt hurt you to give it a try, TRUST ME!

Now Artod, lol when i read your comment i was suprised to see someone actually say that. Basically your telling me that all your care about the game is its cuztimation?????? which means you dont give a **** about the rest of the REALLY IMPORTANT stuff i mentioned about fifa 2003 and why its so great! Let me tell you something fifa fans, when 98 came out, it was the best soccer game because it was a huge improvement over other soccer titles on the pc and game consoles. So what happened when fifa 98 just seemed to slip back in the years while other fifa title were coming out??? PATCHES came out to improve the game in any way possible and stay up to date with the current years. its the year 2003 and the patches still keep coming out and its been bout 5 years since the 98 release, what im trying to say is that fifa 2003 just came out and TONS of patches are ALSO bieng released for this game to improve wat is already great. Now that doesnt mean fifa 2003 lacks anything in any way but just like fifa rtwc 98, pacthes are released to improve its greatness, imagine what type of patches fifa 2003 will have 5 years from now!!?? GIVE FIFA 2003 SOMETIME just like you did with 98, it'll be worth it, heck the best CUSTOMZATION PATCH might just come out for fifa 2003, who knows, could be today or in five years, but there are tons, and i mean tons of different patches for fifa 2003 that will blow you away! GIVE IT TIME

Wilson, lol your talking to a FIFA FANATIC, I have probably downloaded every single patch there exist for fifa 98, and yes the current new one to, like i said before, fifa 98 was all i played until 2003 came out. I recently went back to 98 just to try the new patch, and all i can say is that is was a huge improvement for fifa 98 finally, BUT i felt like i was playing fifa 2003 without some of the great qualities fifa 2003 has. Like i mentioned before, the patches are to TRY to stay current with the year, wat this new patch basically did was take fifa rtwc 98 and move it close to 2003, JUST CLOSE TO. But in no way surpass 2003 because 2003 also has patches improving it and fifa 98 is just trying to get close to wat 2003 is. Heck with all the 2003 patches out there, you should referring to fifa 2003 as fifa euro2004 or fifa 2005, i dont want to exagerate but its true.

Listen NYCDynamix, I don't care a sh!t about the graphics. That's why I loved Sensible Soccer so much, it was easily customizable and really playable.. I want a game that it's easy to play, a game that is playable with the keyboard (I don't have a gamepad), a game that gives me customizable tactics. I don't care about all that nice looking things you can do with your superstar players, I'd be far more satisfied if I could play a 4-4-2 with a winger wide on the flank and the other closing to the centre.

Sensible Soccer??? WTF.. is that **** for the old ass ATARI system?? LOL FIFA 2003 is real easy to play with or WITHOUT a keyboard!! Since when aren't the FIFA games for the pc customized to be played without the keyboard??they been customized since 97 came out for pc.ALL of them been!!....the gamepad is a 2ND option. NOW to the graphics, graphics are REALLY important in any game but so is the gameplay tactics, FIFA 2003 has BOTH,,,,understand, IT HAS BOTH. Like i mentioned before there are these downloadable things called "patches"....lol.... that let you customize the game even more. This lets you customize anything from graphics to game tactics, and once again, FIFA 2003 has that.!! Like i menitoned before, this game IS and will be the closest thing to a real soccer match, until other fifa titles appear that is.

P.S. Is that sensible soccer "game" by any chance played with only 3 keys?? i wanna know since you say its easier to play than fifa 2003 which consists about only 9 keys, which is REAL easy enough already!, but seems like you can't handle it.

DON'T YOU TALK CRAP ABOUT SENSIBLE SOCCER!!!!
It is still a very enjoyable game. Playing against a friend is really fun!
And no, you don't need to use three keys. You only need to use the control keys and one button for kicking the ball (passing and shooting uses the same button).
And it wasn't for ATARI. It was for Amiga. And there are even versions for PC. For more info, search for "Sensible World Of Soccer" on www.google.com .

The game I am talking about is not Sensible Soccer '98, but Sensible World Of Soccer. An earlier version that was awesome in its time.
I said it still is enjoyable to play with a friend since the game takes a lot of skill to master, one player is not at all as fun. Challenging a friend to see who's got the best skills is a real joy! And actually, it should be 5 keys on the keyboard. Up, down, left, right and kick. On a joypad that is the control-button and a button. So it's actually only 2 buttons!!!! Or one button and the control. But the game is still fun, when challenging a mate.
You have obviously not even tried the game so don't talk trash before you try it.

Please mate. You have to accept that there are people more concerned with how fun the gameplay of the game is and not just graphics and other things. And when it comes to fun gameplay there are loads and loads of people that could stand up for SWOS. Just do that google search...

K.. i searched and read about sensible soccer 98 and sensible world of soccer, there is absolutely no difference between the two except for the title name. They are both practically the same game! K..i mentioned for like the tenth time that fifa 2003 is not only does this game stand out for its stunning graphics BUT ALSO FOR ITS GREAT AND ENJOYABLE GAMEPLAY. There are many othrt things that can back fifa 2003 ( this definitely includes the gameplay) to make it so great but its not only its graphics, in which you make it seem like thats the only thing backing it up. FIFA 2003 has GAMEPLAY!!!

That's the spirit mate!

What I wanted you to understand was only that you should try a game before you totally rule it out.
And you should really try Sensible Soccer with a friend cause playing 2-players is what makes it great.
However Sensible Soccer is not good as a football/soccer simulation since it's not that realistic gameplaywise, but it is still very enjoyable in another way.
Yeah, and the career part of the game was genious.

I used to have the 1991 version of the game, something like it... of course it wasn't real football, I know it, but it was one of the funniest things ever. Just trying to score from midfield... a must when mastered...

The point is that the gameplay has to be realistic, but has also to be fun. If tactics are REALLY customizable (like that in FIFA 98), I don't care if the players don't do really ALL the movements of a 4-3-3, and do just part of it... the fact was that in Fifa 98 and 99 if I wanted to play 4-3-3 with the two wingers wide or just close to the centre forward or one wide and the other close behind the CF, I could do it... in Fifa 98, I edited Recoba with Fed98 and made him play for the Maldives... it was the funniest thing ever.

Really, graphics is the part I care less about... I want to play, not watch!

Try getting the Amiga emulator winUAE and SWOS.
The best version of SWOS was the one for the Amiga.

Everything in FIFA '03 will just start looking fake... the physics, gameplay etc...
