north america NTSC europe PAL different formats so thee having problems with PAL format version. i guess

First impressions after playing 3 times...

Overall, it feels pretty decent...the new system for cycling through your players is better than the system used in 07 and CL. It definately takes some getting used to, using the right stick instead of the left trigger to cycle through the players, but it seems like once I get the hang of it, it will work much better than the old system.

However, I'm sad to report that the two biggest problems with both 07 and CL are still present. Players still wait for the ball to come to them, which often causes turnovers. Also, when in pursuit of a ball hit into space, your players are stuck on a straight-line run and cannot cancel out of it. I really just want to meet someone who worked on this game and ask them how utterly stupid they can possibly be for not trying to fix these problems.

The new skill moves are pretty much useless, at least I haven't been able pull anything off of any value.

Shooting is pretty much impossible as well. Most of your shots sail far over the top.

The AI seems improved, they will try to cut off passing lanes on defense, which is made all the more easy since your players stand around waiting for passes instead of running towards the incoming pass.

Graphically, it looks a little sharper than CL and the colors are much more vibrant.

So, maybe I was expecting too much, but I'm pretty pissed that they didn't fix the major problems from the last two games.

About the player running in line for the ball doesn't the RT + LT work or other shoulder buttons combinations work as in current gen?
And pulling yourself the players as you pass doesnt work too?

I wasn't aware of that, I'll have to try it when I get home tonight.

As far as the passing goes, no, it doesn't really seem like you can move your players towards the ball...seems like you can't really take control of them until the split second before the ball arrives.

First impressions from someone who hated the gameplay in FIFA 07/UEFA CL--Much better...still seems like they have a way to go, and the skill stick obviously wasn't included or was a terribly failed experiment, but I actually enjoyed this and could see myself buying and keeping it for longer than a week like the previous two efforts...Great new animations, looking forward to the final cut.

Bad demo! Compared to UEFA CL, its a big step backwards. Even the graphics take a big hit which surprised me. Game is too slow, audio is horrid and when you miss the net, the ball comes shooting back really fast on to the pitch. I'm really dissappointed. I played 7 matches and tried hard to like it. This is a rental. I hope PES is good, if not, back to UEFA CL. I was really looking forward to this

keep in mind these are just demos the final game will probably be alot different and/or better.

a source close to or in EA said when they released the PC Demo that that demo was an older version of the game. so the xbox 360 and/or the PS3 ones can be older ones to.

The detail in the kits works against the game since for the most part you will be using a wide camera that shows the detail in the kits as very jaggedy and too busy. animations are sweet though. AI is very tough, which is a good thing (unless they made it imopssible to break down). One of the things I hate is that every defender on America and Red Bulls easily caught up to Messi, Ronaldinho, Rooney, etc. I know its a demo but that's more reason to put out a good one since it's a first impression. I am still trying to give it a shot. About the grfx, I think it looks just a bit better than 07 but way behind UEFA CL.

OK I thought there was supposed to be a way to take control of your keeper on breakaways or set pieces...? Anyone figured out how to do this? Keepers are completely worthless on set pieces just like in 07 and CL, I've given up about 3 goals on free kicks already.

Demo is starting to get on my nerves a bit. I've managed 1 goal in about 10 games. Shooting is near impossible, the skill moves are useless, every AI defender is somehow faster than every user-controlled player, and it seems as if you can only send through balls on the ground and not through the air. It seems like they've hardly made any progress with this year's game at all...and don't tell me that it's only a demo and that the final game may be different, because the 07 demo and the CL demo were exactly like the final games.

One of the things I hate is that every defender on America and Red Bulls easily caught up to Messi, Ronaldinho, Rooney, etc. I know its a demo but that's more reason to put out a good one since it's a first impression. .

I run by defenders and deliver crosses into the box regularly. PES has the same problem with cpu defenders with unreal speed.

In 12 games I have like 3 or 4 shots on goal A tip: When shooting, tap the button one millionth of a second otherwise ball will go out of the stadium and curve like a whiffle ball. I am forcing myself to like this game. All they had to do is keep eveything from UEFA CL game except add these new animations and tricks and presto. Also, why take a step back on graphics? To make room for the 30 leagues?
