XBox live soccer game?

Hey guys, maybe there's a solution for all the frustrated XBOX users who wish they could play a soccer game on XBox live. I've found this article online:

"Soccer is the most popular team sport in the world and guess what? The Microsoft Sports Studio is building a team to produce just such a title for the Xbox. We’re looking for a developer with a passion to create cutting edge Artificial Intelligence systems. These systems will not merely react to the game player’s input, they will anticipate and adapt. Games will no longer rest on the shelf because they have become too easy to beat. For example, imagine a game that discovers that you have uncovered a "golden path" though the defensive line and then adapts the defense to block further exploits. This is a blank slate opportunity for a sufficiently driven individual. Position Requirements: Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering with a focus on AI; Strong C++ skills; Strong communication skills; and strong knowledge of the sport of soccer. Preferred Skills: Previous game development experience."

Apparently Microsoft Sports Studio is coming out with a game. They are the same ones who created NFL Fever, which is the best (american) football game I've seen yet, the graphics and gameplay are amazing.

Also, it sounds like Microsoft is gonna focus on AI. Can you imagine such a dynamic AI that notices exploits in the defense, and fixes itself automatically? I think that's damn cool :)

I have to admit, I want to stick by FIFA, but maybe EA should use this information as a wake up call and come to terms with Microsoft's online gaming terms, because if this game that comes out is gonna kick ass AND have online play, EA is going to lose alot of support from XBox Users...

No offence but this is old news in the Xbox world. Microsoft are looking to release a Soccer game on XSN, not for 2004 but for the 2005 circa of games.

Rumoured titled was Microsoft Soccer 2005, however ESPN are looking to be taking the bid and run it with the ESPN titles such as NHL and NFL 2k series'; ESPN Soccer 2k5 (possible title) which is said to be a North American build of the WE series.

if its ESPN soccer.. then is Sega sports not konami.. and Sega sports is making some great sports games lately so thats good news.. the more games the better..although I think than in 2005 ea will go live.. I hope so anyway.. thats the reason I am buying nlf fever instead of Madden just to play online.. as well as links 2004 instead of tiger woods and then I'll probably get top spin as well

If Microsoft shows as much ambition as they did with Xbox and Live this might be a great video game. It will most likely make use of the XBOX hard drive. Which will force EA to come out with all its gun instead removing features and put them back two years later.

Yes I realise that the WE series is Konami, but in the past Sega has leased the license and the development team to make Sega ESPN based soccer titles.

As for NFL Fever! Don't waste your money. Shotty gameplay. Get ESPN NFL, it's LIVE, and has great gameplay. As for Top Spin, Anna K. 'nuff said.

Yes I know Sega own the license, well dah! ESPN NHL, ESPN NFL and so forth have been out for the last few years...

What I am saying is that it was 'reported' that a sort of ammalgamation between Konami and the Sega/ESPN to bring an Xbox LIVE soccer game to North America with a possible later World Wide release.

It's all rumoured at this stage, but it's come straight from an MS rep through my old Xbox website.

uh.. this is the first year ESPN NHL and ESPN NFL are coming out..

the rumour about sega and konami making a game is just laughable.. thats like saying EA and MS will make a game together and it will be on XBL

Yes Tom, well it really sounds like you know what you are talking about  Last I checked that the 2k, 2k1, 2k2, 2k3 series were all carrying the ESPN license... just not in naming rights. So maybe it pays to check your facts before pumping out useless information.

Like I said Tom, the fact that there will be an MS Soccer title on LIVE next year is more likely than not the fact that it will be a Sega/Konami game is still 'reported' basically meaning that its only a rumour. However, it's the only real lead at the moment.

The 2k series started carrying the ESPN license THIS year, any games released before this year did not carry the ESPN license, therefore your statement of "ESPN NHL, ESPN NFL and so forth have been out for the last few years..." is wrong.

From what I've heard MS's soccer game will be developed by one of their own devs, since it will be part of their sports lineup, now why would Sega AND Konami develop a sports game for MS, given that they both have their own sports series.. And it is just stupid to say that two competitors will join forces all of nowhere and develop a soccer game for MS on XBL.
