XBOX: No International Cup? Very Disappointing!

Unless I missed something, let me get this straight. I cannot play a World Cup style cup/tournament on FIFA 2004? Yes, we are all aware that the next World Cup is on 2006, but must we also wait until then to play international tournaments on our consoles too(unlike the PC, I can’t download a Patch into my XBOX… lets not even mention that there is no online play for FIFA on the XBOX… thanks EA!!!!!). I have been playing FIFA since 99, this is the first time they are not including this option. Please, somebody tell me that I am wrong and that you have unlocked an International Cup on the XBOX version… please…:(

You're right, have fun playing friendlies. ;)

I personally never cared for the International Cup in the other games, unless it was a World Cup game, because if they don't have the Euro or the American cups, who cares?!

:( Good point. They should have at least the Euro Cup. The game however is marketed towards highlighting clubs, not international squads. Some of us love to play with international teams (even if our own is not included).

Then why is Ronaldinho on the cover with a Brasil kit on instead of his Barca kit? Doesn't make much sense to me, lol.

You are right again, it doesn’t make sense; FIFA 2004 should be better rounded. Soccer, at least for me, is most exiting when you see the best of this country take on the best of that country. Playing friendly international matches (exclusively) is not very satisfying. I am still a FIFA fan, but perhaps I am naïve enough to think that the folks at EA Canada read these sites and take into consideration what we say. FIFA 2004 is still my favorite but EA has got to reach a wider audience (or gamer in this case).

That occurred to me, but I didn't know when the cover and intro footage was shot.

International competition is great, and I do think that the International Cup should be in the game, don't get me wrong. I've just never been a fan of that feature in the game, but many are.

In FIFA 2002 however, international teams are huge. Almost every country is included (actually every country qualifying for the World Cup was included). I love that version, but of course, they managed to ruin that too by not using a lot of the correct uniforms (and I mean they were not even close). This occurred for most of the S. American and Caribbean countries anyway (yes-yes, I know who care s about those countries right? I do actually). They also had the names wrong, but enough about the past. I guess I was looking forward to playing Korea vs. Italy in a fight for the right to play the quarterfinals against Spain… you guys get the picture, I love playing International matches.

I thought about doing that but can you get the World Cup set up (you know, 8 groups made up of 4 teams, top 2 advance etc…)? That would be awesome!!!

You can change the teams in the tournaments that are there , and turn them into international tournaments.

Oh yeah? There's your solution Brett. If in fact it's true.

FIFA 2002 was great, but the curl really took away from it since it was so ridiculous, although it was fun to make some sick through balls. :)

I doubt it, but it'd be cool. I'd play international comps if you could do that.
