When I try to play FIFA 2002 on Windows XP, as soon as the match is loaded, it goes back to windows. I can't find an XP patch or a thread about it anywhere. Is there a patch for this bug or anything else I can do?
Thanks

I have xp and it runs fine for me.

What spec is ur pc- there is a problem with processors over 2ghz i think.

If not have you downloaded any 3rd party patches or updates or additions (eg from soccergaming etc) for the game?

never paid much attention to problem threads as I never really had any.

Just done a search of the fifa 2002 forum and found something:
(pasted straight across)

This type problem is associated with Computers that run at 2Ghz or higher maybe some sort of timing sync problem and EA is a dead loss when it comes to support as they spend their time counting $$ not trying to help gamers. However there are a few things left that you can try to work around this which has worked for some people.

1. When your PC starts hit "delete" to go to set up.( blue screen )
In the bios go to cpu settings and change the cpu speed from 133/133 to 100/133...save and exit. The cpu speed will be reduced to 1.9GHz and the game should load up.
You can always change it back to the original setting ( 133/133 ) anytime by rebooting and hitting delete to get back into the bios to restore your original settings. Do not forget to save before exiting the bios. You can check EZ tool too confirm that the change has taken effect.

2. Does your CD drive seemed to be doing a lot of blinking right before it crashes?
Then go to www.gamecopyworld.com and download a no-cd patch there
Look for the game index at the site and click on "F" . That will enable you to run your game without reference to the CD.

Only thing I could find, hope it helps u a bit:)

I had the same problem, but I dont really want to lower the performance of my computer. The only reason I chose Fifa 2002 over 2003 is because I knew that Legia Warsaw was in 2002. Are they in 2003 also, if they are I will trade in 2002 for 2003, unless 2003 doesnt work with 2 GHz comps.

still problems

Hmm, I've got a pentium 2.4ghz

I tried to reset my cpu speed but I can't...
I don't know why it's different than your computers but I have to press F2 when the pc starts. Then I get a blue/grey screen with four menu's(main,special,...) and some submenu's. But I can not find the link to change your speed :( .

Is this familiar for somebody?
Can anyone help cause I want to PLAY :f***:

I dunno why EA just don't release a fix just to let those peepz with 2GHz+ CPU's to play the damn game.

It's not a case of "Uuuh why don't ya buy FIFA 2003" because I remember they released a patch for FIFA 2000 after FIFA 2001 had been on the shelves for months, so...
