my point is that the list isn't total ownage as you claim but still better than most I reckon. :jambo:

Well, I was merely joking a bit with the "better than your lists" part :p .......I really couldn't care less that most other people don't enjoy such amazing music as I do. (H)

As for mine, its got to be the one, the only, Abbey Road. One of the 5 most famous covers in history (irrelevant to content, but important still) and its so varied, so different and fresh, even 40 years on, that i'd never get tired of listening to it. I think they were the best and most influential musicians of the 20th century, and with maybe the exception of the white album (but that doesnt count cause its got twice the material :p ) its their best
Yeah, Abbey Road is awesome... really holds up as an album, not just a collection of songs.

sorry.. too mainstream

plus you just summed up the good albums of your fav bands and put them all in here.
hahah I find this hilarious. Virgo, you are the man of honesty.

Anyway mine.

At the Drive-In: Relationship of Command
Dillinger Escape Plan: Irony is a Dead Scene
Iron Maiden: Powerslave
Mars Volta: De-Loused in the Comatorium

And VB, Frances the Mute :-/. The songs are really long, and the people just hearing about Mars Volta are going straight for that album. They'll think great of them for the wrong reasons (not going to mention them. :(). Anyway it was ok, but doesn't match De-Loused in the Comatorium.:p

Notorious B.I.G. - Ready To Die. By far the best album I have ever listened to.

Honorable mentions for Snoop Dogg's "Doggystyle," Nas' "Illmatic," Dr. Dre's "The Chronic," and all of Tupac's albums. Yes, old school like it should be. And to be honest, I had never listend to these albums until about 2000 :$

hard to go with a favorite... all of stevie ray vaughn's songs, gary moore of course. clapton and bb king had awesome albums too. to look at some contemporary music i would have to say

Shinedown - Leave A Whisper (Reissue)
Submersed - In Due Time

both of these bands tell a story with their music, it's not a collection of songs randomly thrown into a cd and put on the shelf. some of the best music i've heard in a while comin from these two

If I had a list of favorite albums that reinnovate hip-hop, Outkast would be topping it. Aquemini did just that.

I love too many albums to make a top 10 list or whatever, but a few that instantly come to mind as potential all-time faves are:

Boards of Canada - 'Music has the right to children'

Binary Star - 'Masters of the Universe'

Gang Starr - 'Full Clip: A decade of Gang Starr'

Prefuse 73 - 'One Word Extinguisher'

Digable Planets - 'Reachin...'

you guys are going to think I'm weird, but the only Outkast I actually like is the 'ATLiens' album..

ATLiens kicks ass too. I love the spiritual theme to the album. "ATLiens", "Elevators", "Babylon", "Millenium", "E.T.", "13th Floor"... lots of great tracks.

I love the fact that the songs are long -- the way the songs draw out into extremely long jams and instrumental solos (i.e. the Santana/Zepp-esque guitaring, Flea's trumpet solos, etc). I absolutely love it. Cassandra Gemini blows me away everytime I listen to it, talk about thirty-minutes of ear candy.

And I would never pit De-Loused against FTM, I think both albums are playing in two totally different leagues. Then again, most people were expecting a De-Loused "Part 2".
