Your ideal football

What would be your favorite way to watch the game. What tactics and gameplay would you like football to change to in order to make it more enjoyable and greater as a sport.

I would first of all take out diving and change the whole mentallity on cheating like that. I would like it if football players were more known for their toughness then for being a coward... Yes that would be great indeed... Imagine a player actually going all in a challenge and using all his inner and outer strength to beat an opponent instead of thinking of the best way to fall down.

Now for the game, I would like to see a more Brazilian style (yes I'm talking about this world cup's brazil) in the sense that the team plays a passing game, carrying the ball to the oppositions half and passing it among them looking for holes... instead of lets say the English or Italian way where they just try crossed and long balls. Also the Swiss Ukraine game was horrible display of good football, both teams played disguisting, like sh!t... None of them took any intiative to actually attack and play real football instead they both stayed in their inner half and only attempted attacking a few times in a game... I would like if the whole team pushed forward.

I am just sick of narrowminded games where only some players try to attack and everyone else is focused on defending, which easily stomps out all attacks.

What would you like to see happen in the future of football? and hopefully state how it would benefit it

i would love to see diving eradicated from the game .
simulation is becoming rampant even in the best leagues in world.
more than 50% of injuries during wc06 were faked according to reports.

I love attacking play like germans did in this world cup.
there is a way to lose u see.Germans must be proud of themselves.

I would also like to see defenders getting their due credit and fame
defenders are taken for granted. look at cannavaro.

i am not against time wasting in the sense that the tems can play keep ball and shield the ball at corner flanks. this is perfectly legal.
But, simulation isnt and must be removed from football.

I agree with you about the cheating and the diving. I watched some old-school games from the 70's and 80's and you never saw any of what you see today. It was a total man's game back then. And the game just flowed better too.. Back then if your teammate got knocked hard, you wouldn't complain and whine to the ref as you see today, you would just get your ass up and give the other guy a good hard tackle and the ref would let it go. Nowadays, the game is full of pussies. Being a Man Utd fan, off the top of my head I can think of George Best... I mean, that guy rode the toughest tackles like nobody's business. We need some more George Bests and Roy Keanes in today's game. Who cares if a ref doesn't call a foul that should've been called... you don't have to exaggerate your fall and make a dive to make a point. Just get up, get on with it and play on damnit. It just makes you look like and idiot when they replay it over and over on TV. I think in general, in sports, players are wayyyyy overpaid and are way too stuck-up. The commercialization of the game has changed everything. Now since there's a whole butt-load of money involved, players and coaches will try anything to win. And another thing that bugs me is that there are so many sore losers these days. Where's the humility? You gotta learn to accept defeat once in a while. It's a shame really that you don't see the same kind of sportsmanship these days... but hey the beautiful game still makes up for most of it.

The way Argentina played this World Cup.

Basically good ball movement on the ground with as little long balls over the top as possible. i.e. vs S&M and IVC first 65 minutes

Like you said it would be very hard to take out the diving seeing how everyone does it.

Football would be amazing if there was minimal diving and feigning injury, and refs wouldnt cut the game up by blowing the whistle, like it has been like most of the time at this WC.

But with all this sh1t is can be absolute rubbish and simply annoying.

1: Only the team captains to be allowed to speak to the referee, unless specifically given permission to do so. Players trying to intimidate, or coerce officials will be booked.

2: A fifth official, with access to video pictures - and in contact with the referee via radio mic (like worn in WC) Incidents missed by the Referee can be dealt with swiftly and accurately.

3: Simulation and feigning injury to be bookable offense. Blatant cheating to be straight red (like Ronaldo's swan dive against Germany.)

4: Clarification and a return to the proper offside rule - the "interfering with play" and "phase" aspects are just too confusing.

5: Tackles where the player is trying for the ball to be allowed, unless it's a tackle from behind. Too many games are stopped for niggly challenges.

A college education. All footballers who want to play professional soccer must first graduate from college before setting foot on a field. Also, coaches should be encouraged to drink a minimum of three alcoholic beverages on the touchlines on matchdays.

Very well put, I agree with all of those

all of those could be put in too... would be for a greater game

I agree with that only captains are allowed to talk to the ref, if you do and arent the captain you get booked.

Video replay could also be easily put in by having communication with the ref through a ear piece (which is already there)

We should send these to FIFA
