Three albums that I bought over the past couple of months........I'd definitely recommend the Beck album, just recommend the Lemonheads one, and hesitantly recommend the Dj Shadow one, and maybe entirely not, if you don't happen to be a big fan of his to begin with.
Beck - The Information.
Elevator music
I think I'm in love with you
Cellphone's dead
Nausea
.......seriously, I'll go on listing the entire album as my favourite tracks save for "Movie Theme" if I keep on going like this........this album is just that solid both lyrically and instrumentally, man. It didn't hook me in on my first listen as I was driving back from the music store, but after just keeping it around in my car for a couple weeks, I decided to give it a second listen through while I was cruising about (not in the queer sense of the word) aimlessly one night, it just hooked me in.......hooked me in like the first time I burrowed myself inside of a couple of inches worth of vagina mudflaps, man. It now gets a full listen from me atleast once a week, man.
DJ Shadow The Outsider
This time (I'm gonna try it my way)........easily going down as one of my favourite tracks of 2006, man.
Seein thangs
Broken Levee Blues
Backstage Girl
The Tiger
You made it
The album is kinda disjointed and uninspired in some parts. I'm really not a big fan of the Hyphy/Crunk sound but Dave Banner and E40, whose comedic geniusness on the mic I've always appreciated, were both solid in their respective tracks.
Lemonheads-Lemonheads
Black Gown
Become the enemy
Pittsburg
No Backbone
Just a solid album from beginning to end. It sustains a consistent level of quality without really increasing in its greatness or worsening at all, you know?
