Youth Without Youth

It's basically starring Tim Roth and a bunch of Romanian actors, plus a cameo from Matt Damon. This is Coppola's return to filmmaking after a ten year absence. It will be released in the states on December 14th but only in NY and LA so hopefully it will do good there because I want to see it.

It is based off of Romanian scholar, Mircea Eliade's novella Youth Without Youth.

Here's the trailer:

I cant wait - my first ever Coppola movie in the cinema, first Tim Roth role I've seen in a while, story sounds excellent, trailer looks excellent. I just hope and pray that it makes it to the UK in decent time.

So what's the deal with movies that only get released in the NY and LA initially? Do they have to do well in those cities to be released everywhere else?

nah, they need to be released there to get considered for the academy awards. actually, its only LA the requisit but its always good t have the NY critics involved too.

So when does it come out in the rest of the cities?

Dec 14 is only for NY and LA so in the rest of the country it'll be released progressively in the next weeks. it depends on how reviews are and how well is received in the big cities.

It is possible that it could be dumped entirely following an incredibly bad critical and box office reaction, but highly unlikely for a movie such as this.
