    Try L1+R1 together while standing over the ball. If the defender is behind you, your player will push back into him to protect the ball. Don't try it for too long, or the defender will just walk around you and take the ball.

    I think this "glitch" has been around since PES4. It happens so often that it must be a stock animation when the goalkeeper saves the ball off the line. It really appears that he handles it behind the line. I think its just a bad animation, not a real bug, per se.
