2005 kit coverter to 2006????

Is it possible to make some sort of converter that makes 2005 kits to 2006 format? It seems that the basic shapes of each part is the same as 2005, but just stretched differently. If that's the case, then it's just a matter of changing positions around and restretching things.

Can anybody make such a graphics converter???

There is actually 1 problem..... the Long sleeves, the FIFA 2005 templates dont have it, but it is sometimes different than the short sleeves :jambo:

Hi Donovan, I had the same idea and I posted it on anitalian forum but some expert kit makers said me that it should not be very useful because of the distortion and blurr introduced. What do you think about it ?
Couse I am not a kit maker at all, if we want to make a try, I should need map of which area of a 2005 kit should be mapped in which area of a 2006 kit. Then I will write a short program taking care of all the scale factors and interpolation.

I'd like that also a 2005 to 06 kit converter because I have a truckload of 2005 kits sitting on my hard disk :)

Well, for me, I not too concerned about the blurr. I mean, I just want to easily convert my USL 2005 kits to 2006 format. Also I have many other national teams from 2005 that could be used also for the ISP patch. I'm not a kit maker on the extreme sense, where everything has to be perfect. I make kits, there average I would say, but not bad.

Right now, it takes me about 15 min to a half an hour to convert one kit. So for just my USL league alone a kit converter may save me 20 hours. But I don't know if making a utility will take that long to make.

As for mapping, it would only be important to make sure the cuts from the 2005 kit would match up exactly with the 2006, and look good in game, example: addidas stripes down the sides lining up. on the shoulders and sleeves. That may take a little tickering, but once the utility is perfected, I think it would save a huge amount of time for patch makers, I may even add Copa Libertadores, and All qualification zones in the ISP if I can convert kits quickly. Because all the teams have been made for 2005.

I don't want to put a huge burden on kit makers, especially for kits that have already been made. \

Well, my basic opinion, 2005 kits look ok in game converted to 2006. And having a slightly blurred kit is better than having none.

Just my opinion, I can help with the mapping. I already know what peices go where if that's what you wondering. but I don't know pixel size right now, I guess I could figure that out somehow. But pixel size isn't as important as placement.

All my kits I have of 2005 are basically 2gk, so I would want to convert to 2gk to 2gk if possible.

I would love to see a utility like this.

2006 map is exactly what I need because there is the size of each area, I should need the same map also for 2005 kits, possibly both 1Gk e 2GK.

Thanks in afvance.

All bow down to the master! superb job!

There is one little thing though, when I exported from Fifa 2005 1024 x 512 (2GK) to Fifa06 768x768 (2GK) the file wasn't big enough (somehow the number of bytes weren't correct) but when I opened in paint shop pro, just saved it, it asked me if I was sure to reconvert to .bmp (although the file is bmp!) I click yes and hopla, the size of the file is corrected. This should work in paint also and I didn't check the 1gk conversion method yet.

Mmm, I don't think it is the pixel size but probably the pixel format, I choose 32 bit R,G,B and alpha but maybe it is better to use R,G,B only. This version works only with BMP so you need a tool to convert from BMP to FSH, which tool are you using ? I'll do a check with it.

Hi Rinaldo,
There is a little problem for me too.
The convertor saves perfectly from fifa2205 2gk to fifa06 1GK or 2GK
But then I cannot open the new bmp with paint shop or photoshop . it say me " unknown format "
I have to resave the 06 bmp with paint as 24 bit bmp.
so it's maybe a problem with your 32 bit resolution

How do I make a .fsh file for new teams kits' eg Netherlands 105035. after converting a 1GK? NB fshtool gives me a "truncated file?" error message

I convert from a fifa 2005 kit .bmp to a fifa06 .bmp I don't convert them to .fsh

In fact I have the same thing going as Jomi explains in this thread, I have to open the created Fifa06 kit (coverted from the 2005 one) in Paint Shop Pro, just save it (do nothing else) and then the format gets corrected and I can import it with Kitraptor.

Just to prove it works and it's looking good, here's Hawk's Ascoli kit he made a few days ago for Fifa2005, converted and imported to 06

Edit : Btw, I just noticed something, the sleeves on the converted kit look a lot sharper than the "original made for" Fifa06 ones, just look at Kaka's sleeve on the screenshot, the Serie A logo is blurred while on the Ascoli kit it's perfectly clear, even from farther away, strange!
