Well the answer isn't a simple one, but to try and answer quickly... Great Britain or the United Kingdom is made up of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. It goes back to old wars and the English of yesterday trying to be bigger than they were. Scotland are looking at breaking away from the uk... Check out the film Braveheart for more perspective there.

Ok so how does that effect football? Well in international football we all compete as separate nations, so the people of Wales get to support their team in the world cup. The fear from a gb team is that if they go down that route FIFA might want it that way for future tournaments.

That and the issue that the uk or gb union isn't a happy one all the time.

Its one, that being English I'm happy for it to be just England. And I'm sure in so many years time it will be.

It was a dream to win it really, Spurs pay only a fraction of the wages of the two Manchester clubs. Bale, Parker and van der Vaart missed the United game which effects our game also. Still a Champions League place and win the FA Cup and I'd be pleased. :)
