2015 Copa América [P+R]

I don't even bother getting into arguments about Neymar again.

But about the Cavani incident - yeah now after the second viewing of that episode, I'd say that was really disgraceful thing to do by Jara and Cavani didn't even do much to him. Barely touched him and Jara went down like a clown. Really dirty tactics, absolutely shameful behaviour and he's the one who should get some further punishment for it.

Here's a link showing the full incident http://streamable.com/9eas. What a jerk. This sort of thing even pissed me off a little right now. I didn't see exactly what Jara did while watching the match, because I was constanstly switching between tabs during that moment.

Anyway it was a game of not very much chances, and both teams looked quite equal until that thing. Maybe Chile was a little bit more lethal while attacking. While I respect players like Bravo, Alexis, Vidal, Isla and Valdivia, there are some real ****s in the Chile team as well.

Now I'm even further hoping that Chile won't win this thing, I'd even root for Argentina should they beat Colombia which I really hope will not happen.

But with Edwin Valencia injured, Cuadrado out of form and the strikers not getting enough service, it can be a tough task. Colombia is really lacking depth in the middle of the park. It really shows that they are missing Abel Aguilar who kind of makes things click further down the pitch. Also Guarín could be useful right now, although he's not really the usual automatic starter. Anyways I'll be hoping for the best.

Haha.. Well one thing I like about Copa América is that it can be really unpredictable. I guess you could say that all the other three semifinalists would like the winner of the Bolivia - Peru game as their opponent. But who knows anything could happen in that match as well. (that semifinal I mean which will be featuring one of Bolivia or Peru)

Argentina vs. Colombia is pretty painful to much at the moment.

The goal looks likely to be in the air from Argentina's side. The midfielders problem for Colombia is really showing. Carlos Sánchez is also suspended. And what a double save from Ospina from Agüero and Messi while I was typing this. Looks like Colombia is going for really defensive formation with Teó getting taken out for Edwin Cardona (who at least had a pretty decent season for his club) already at 23rd minute.

Argentina is just looking too dangerous in offense. :(

This is how they play in southamerica. I still laught at all pf you "experts" saying that Neymar would do nothing against european defences.

I wouldn't really compare Brasileiro to tournaments like Copa América though. But I'm a known person who dislikes Neymar so I cannot be exactly taken seriously involing discussions about the guy because of the impartiality regarding the situation.

He was spectacular last season, but can still struggle if teams know how to shut him out of the game properly. Little of them know how to do that, though. :P

It has been amazing how Argentina hasn't scored so far, partly to due Ospina's heroics and agressive play by Colombia. I hope the old saying "if you don't manage to score from your chances, the opponent finally will" will apply in this game.

They defend exactly like this in the whole southamerica with the same permisive refeering. All the games were a Neymar hunt.

Argentina would have scored already if in the left they had a right footed player instead Di Maria. Also, Colombia is horrible... they midfielders dont know what to do under pressure and there are not passing options so they jist run with the ball. Poor James is playing as #5, #10 and #8 at the same time.

Yeah maybe I haven't watched the league games in South-America enough, but still the quality of the defenders or midfielders cannot really be compared to the ones playing in Europe's top leagues. Most of the talented ones leave at young age in SA though. So it's not exactly a fair competition as I brought out as an example.

But they put man marking, violence, provocations, refeering never booking anyone... And Neymar's team game wasnt very fluid so he barely had a ball with advantatge. Same context Messi finds in Argentina where he cant perform like in Europe

Ospina's double-save was out of this world. I hope he finds a good team next season, he's just too good to be on the bench at Arsenal which is what would inevitably happen following Cech's arrival.

About the game itself it's been all about Argentina having full control of the ball but failing to take advantage of it by not creating enough clear-cut chances and missing the few they actually had.

Colombia is just too passive, in case they stick to these tactics their only hope is holding on for the penalties.

Yeah but Di Maria has been putting some pretty decent crosses into the box at times. I think they could use a target man there instead of Agüero, or accompanying him. I wouldn't really call Tévez the solution and Higuain is a known bottler, although a game like this might be just for him.

And as I've said before Colombia is really missing Aguilar from the beginning of the tournament, and now they're playing without Carlos Sanchez as well. The lineup looks quite confusing at times, and since my stream is not very high quality it's actually difficult to say the exact formation or the players' positions for the Colombian side. It looks like a mess that's for sure. James all over the pitch, Arias sometimes on the right, sometimes on the left and even in the middle. Anyway you catch my drift.

Diamond 4-4-2 but the DMF is man marking messi and when he lays to the wing theres none in the middle for Colombia.

Pekerman fix it in the 20' with Carmona for Teo though.

Yup.

And actually it seems that Ospina is leaving for Fenerbahce this summer for 3 or 4 million euros. Not exactly a top-top team. I think he deserves better to be honest.
