Guys, you're obviously not reading the interviews and previews very well. The reason why those players are just standing around is because the AI is not complete yet. It still has a lot of improving to do, as all of the people who have played FIFA 2003 will tell you in their stories.

I managed to get a go on FIFA 2003...through my Xbox website..thanks to the guys at EB. Read it here: www.xboxau.com just to let you know that this wasn't the final version and I was told that it was only 65% complete in terms of AI/Gameplay and about 90% in graphics and that.

You may think whilst reading my preview that the game is just like 2002 but I stress that it's only 65% complete and what was on offer was very nice.

"The passing model is quite similar to last year but passing is much more fun and is not a case of hit and miss. You cannot simply run down the wing spinning and hurdling either, you really need to work the ball around the pitch to gain yards.

Shooting is not as good as I had hoped, the shooting system is almost the same and it doesn’t feel all that different. Keep in mind this was a pre-release version and many aspects such as shooting are not finalised yet. One positive thing with shooting now however is that a top striker is far more accurate and with more time on the ball is more likely to score than an average striker with minimum time to set up the shot. "

"In my honest opinion this is one of the most complete football games that I have played, it may not be as realistic in gameplay terms as PES but it is definitely the best looking football game ever and mark my words, this WILL be the best FIFA ever"

I don't want to sound disrespectfull, but how on earth can you make a preview, complete with conclusions, from a game which is only finished for 65%?? Excuse me, but such a preview sounds biased then...:(

Read carefully, that is only one section of the game the overall game is say about 80% I'd say, which is about all you get with any preview of any game. That was just the playable demo, the rolling video was 'according to EA', 95% complete and that's what I based alot of my preview on.

People critisise for not having previews and having them. A Game Journalist cannot win in this world. At least I have played it and you haven't.

One point Gareth
Rest of forum nil.

LOL! :kader:

Yes I did read it carfully.
You will agree with me that from a good soccergame the gameplay is the most important thing.
Because I did read it carefully, I knew the gameplay was finished for only 65% and exactly that was my point of critism.
I can understand that a preview-maker always has to deal with unfinished products and in order not to be outdated by concurrent-previewers you sometimes have to make very early previews.
The question which comes to my mind then, is if that is in the interest of the reader, who want's accurate info about a game he may buy....

You have an easier job with games like PES 2, which is a conversion of the Japanese WE6 plus some extra new features. :)
