It´s a matter of opinions. I personally think that Brazil has a better midfield. On paper and on the pitch. And they have proved it already, can´t say the same about England.

you wont find (and i mean this) a better actual shot stopper than James. Mind you, you'd be hard pushed finding someone with as bad aerial confidence :(

If he plays Carrick, he'd have to drop Lampard. No chance. Even if Lampard loses a leg in training or something, he will still play him as long as he can kick a ball. Sven has never been the type of manager to drop his big players when they're playing ****e. It's one of his major flaws.

Although, he did mastermind a 5-1 victory over Germany so I will forgive him I suppose. :rockman:

Naw, naw he won't need to.

I'm on about a diamond;

----------Carrick---------
---Gerrard------J.Cole-----
----------Lampard--------

And anyone thats thinks Beckham needs to play....Get Out.

Aight, Gerrard would find himself a place there tho.
Hard to compare when they play such a different style of football, though if I had to pick 4 mids between Brazil and England it'd be Gerrard, Lampard, Ronaldinho and Kaka...

Not sure if it'd work well in the pitch, but on paper they'd do fine... It'd miss a Sissoko/Makelele though...

Best defense is from Paraguay and england's poor attack will face it...

Villar+JC Caceres+JD Caceres+Gamarra...

Italy, Spain, Argentina, Czech Republic, Denmark, Holland & France.

And that's just the ones I can think of without hesitation.
Argentina:
Fabricio Coloccini (Deportivo La Coruna), Leandro Cufre (Roma), Roberto Ayala (Valencia), Nicolas Burdisso (Internazionale), Gabriel Milito (Real Zaragoza), Gabriel Heinze (Manchester United)

Italy:
Gianluca Zambrotta (Juventus), Alessandro Nesta (AC Milan), Fabio Cannavaro (Juventus), Fabio Grosso (Palermo), Cristian Zaccardo (Palermo), Andrea Barzagli (Palermo), Marco Materazzi (Internazionale), Massimo Oddo (Lazio)

Netherlands:
Khalid Boulahrouz (Hamburg), Giovanni van Bronckhorst (Barcelona), Tim de Cler (AZ Alkmaar), Johnny Heitinga (Ajax), Kew Jaliens (AZ Alkmaar), Jan Kromkamp (Liverpool), Joris Mathijsen (AZ Alkmaar), Andre Ooijer (PSV Eindhoven)

The Czechs:
Zdenek Grygera (Ajax), Marek Jankulovski, Martin Jiranek (Spartak Moscow), Radoslav Kovac (Spartak Moscow), Pavel Mares (Zenit St Petersburg), David Rozehnal (Paris St Germain), Tomas Ujfalusi

France:
Eric Abidal (Lyon), Pascal Chimbonda (Wigan), Gael Givet (Monaco), Mikael Silvestre (Manchester United), Jean-Alain Boumsong (Newcastle), William Gallas (Chelsea), Willy Sagnol (Bayern Munich), Lilian Thuram (Juventus)

Spain:
Michel Salgado, Sergio Ramos (both Real Madrid), Carles Puyol (Barcelona), Pablo Ibanez (Atletico Madrid), Juanito (Real Betis), Carlos Marchena (Valencia), Antonio Lopez (Atletico Madrid), Asier del Horno (Chelsea)

There, now everyone can see how absurd this thread is

Of those, maybe Italy figures to be better, but they will also be mighty old, and France could be good if Boumsong never leaves the bench. On paper is an entirely different thing from how a team will play out, but to say that England's defense, with the personel they have will be inferior to all of these? Well, that is just bias manifesting itself.

Backline Ferraris like Colocinni, Ramos and Burdisso are going to be exposed, I almost guarantee it. And the fact that Boumsong made France's squad really says it all (though if they line up Chimbonda--Sagnol--Thuram--Gallas it wont really matter)

On paper England has the best defense by far. Name one other roster that can beat Neville, Ferdinand, Caragher, Terry, A. Cole on paper.

The whole world calls him Ronaldinho but Grunger has to call him Gaucho. That is a name I dont know Ronaldinho by, so thats why i missed it. Funny, at the time I thought, " Gaucho?...Who the f.u.c.k is that?...I've never heard of him".........Of course Ronaldinho would make it....in place of Kaka of course.

Laughable. Kaká would make any team in the World. Any. England has a lot of quality but Kaká could be the 2nd forward anyway. And Ronaldinho is called Ronaldinho Gaúcho here aswell.

OK whatever you say Mr Brazil........

Ronaldinho is called Ronaldinho here though. Why get so upset over a hypothetic situation anyway. Its about opinions thats all. Kaka is good but i would take Rooney over Kaka any day of the week. I suppose thats sacrilige and i'll now get struck by lightning

I didnt say Kaká had to start over Rooney, i said he would find himself a place. And from what i know, i can still call the guy as i please, whether it be Dinho, Ronaldinho, Gaúcho, Horse-Teeth or whatever, Mr. England.

Juninho over Lampard atm.

Lampard has been really average this season.

anyway as Greece proved in 2004, names don't win games, hardwork and sweat do.
