Lol, I came home pretty drunk last night, after watching the game in a local cafe with some friends, so I couldn't really form an opinion(it remains to be seen wheter I could when I would've been sober BTW).

Anyway, I think we shouldn't be crying just yet, I still think even after yesterday's game we can beat them easily. But Van Geel better get some adequate replacement for Sneijder or otherwise we're going to have a real sh*tty season.

So they better deliver (board and van Geel) and soon cause we are starting to get really pissed.
I agree though that we can beat Slavia easily in two weeks cause they are really a bunch of amateurs and we should've won with at least 3-0 yesterday.

Start of the competition this weekend away against de Graafschap, normally easy win so let's hope we at least will win that one cause next week Heerenveen WITH ALVES!

First game and first win of the season against de Graafschap:

1-8 WIN

4x Huntelaar and one of them was a penalty (he's back!)
1x Kennedy
1x Suarez (and 3 ASSISTS!!)
2x Maduro (within 15 mins)

So we are in first place and scored 4 goals more than AZ, good start.

Luis Suarez showed why he was worth 8M what a fantastic player!
Maduro is fantastic, he is so calm when he has the ball what a difference with last season, scored twice in 15 mins when he came on the pitch in the 2nd half I'm glad he stayed with us

Bad again in the 1st half Urby, clearly he's suffering from the game against Slavia so that's why he was substituted in the 2nd half.

Just heard in an interview with HtC that Ajax is hoping to get Riera from Espanyol this week!!
The Interview is live on Tele2 so I'm heard it myself.

Well done lads, next week homegame against Heerenveen and then we have to set things right in Prague.

Also good to see Maduro back in form again. His form has started to rise again since the Euro U-21 championships.

Let's just hope this brings us the confidence boost to beat Slavia. Shame De Graafschap managed to score one, but ah well you cannot complain with such a result. Well done, guys!

True they told this on Tele2 during the game when I was watching it as well
We managed to score 4 more than AZ that's a good start cause if we learned one thing last season it's that EVERY goal counts
psv managed to win as well but they had it rough with Heracles during the first half and 010 won with 3-0 against Utrecht and of course Makaay scored but not as much as our KLAAS JAN HUNTELAAR who is topscorer with 4 goals after the first day!
Let's not forget about Suarez though, not 3 assists like I mentioned earlier but no less than 4 assists and 1 goal I say that's a good Ajaxdebute for this youngster

VI.nl is reporting that Ajax has reached an agreement with Riera. They still need to make a deal with Espanyol though, but it seems likely he'll come.

If he comes, I'm not sure why we really need him now that we have Suarez. Well we'll see, he played very well in the UEFA Cup final I remember.
But he isn't exacly a replacement for Wes, so I'm still expecting something from our magician who's often referred to as Van Geel. Only 10 days left...

About Riera, looking at our slim selection I would welcome him with open arms, sure we have Suarez and he showed why he should be playing with the first 11 but Riera is a great player and it's good to have a broad selection.
On the other hand I hope it's not the only buy like you said...we'll see at the moment Espanyol is being very hostile towards a transfer so nothing is sure yet.

Well Riera didn't come indeed, but it seems like we'll get another Spanish player anyway. According to VI.nl negotiations with Alberto Luque are in the final stages.
I think he would be a good addition to the squad. Though he completly failed at Newcastle, I really liked him as a player when he still played for Deportivo. Let's see how he does here. Still, I want a midfielder to replace Wesley though.

Well I've just read that Martin van Geel and our director Maarten Fontein are both at Newcastle right now so I guess it's a done deal!
Otherwise they wouldn't make the trip (for nothing), funny though cause both psv and feyen.. wants him as well and again we are faster than them like the time when Jaap Stam joined us hahaha
Luque is a good player I hope he will fit in well in our system but that remains to be seen I guess.
Luque himself really wants to come to Amsterdam and not to psv and 010 (surprise surprise) because Ajax has a much greater name in foreign countries (what else is new)
I'm guessing later today or tomorrow they will announce the signing

Spanish papers reports Luque is signing for Ajax (for free).

Who is luque? 28-29 years old, OM or just forward. He did very well in Deportivo, being a key player when Deportivo de la Coruña was doing OK at champions league. He even played for spanish NT.

Then he signed for Newcastle (14-18€ m) but he didnt got many chances during 2-3 years, he was a bench player with no luck.
