I just htought the whole thing was hilarious.

Seriously Materazzi will be fine, probably just a bit of a bruise. And why should Zidane have to be an angel? This makes even more of a legend, the quiet assassin, don't piss him off because he WILL kill you!!

I don't condone what Zizou did, but let's look at the flipside of the incident. I don't recall Zindane ever being ill tempered and resorting to this sort of behaviour, which tells me that Materazzi must have said some to really, and I mean really crazy to piss of Zizou. I bet if half of you were in that situation you would have done the same thing, I know I might have, especially in the heat of the moment. What if Materazzi said something about his family, like I hope your daughter dies after this game or something.... sh!t, wouldn't that be enough to piss you off?

Every stupid action illicits an even more stupid reaction, and in this case, Zizou let stupidity get the best of him.

My god, what a shameful end to such a magical player. Though I think Materazzi said something very bad related to his Algerian nationality(racism probably).
I would've rather wanted Italy to win with 10-1 than for Zidane to say goodbye like this.

He's had more of these moments in his career though in which he was totally blinded with rage. That darkside isn't worthy of a man with the class of Zizou.

Very very dissappointing.

That is just one example. There are a lot more.

Yep I remember world cup 98 he kicked somebody in a Rooney sort of way. As I said he had more of this moments that isn't worthy of him.

Are you kidding me? I still remember in a Juve CL match back in around 2000 in the CL he headbutted some German team(Hamburg?) player and got sent off. Then there was the stamping on that Saudi guy in '98 for absolutely no reason. Zidane does have a mean side to him, although it's usually when things don't go his way. Whatever Materazzi said to him, it doesn't excuse the headbutt. Yes, it would piss me off, too. But I'm not being paid millions and I'm not an ambassador of world football. As such, I don't have a greater responsibility of professionalism.

hes had outbursts a couple of times in his career. but Ronaldinho head-butted a guy last year, who still remembers that? no-one, because if youre an extra-ordinary player, alot of stuff is forgiven. same will be with this incident.

Zidane has been carded before for this type of incident. in 1998 he stamped on a Saudi player. I think there was another incident of headbutting too.

I would not have done anything. Words can not hurt me. I have been abused verbally by opponents all the time and the best thing is not to react.

I'd put money that Materazzi said something racist/anti-muslim or something to him.

I was sad for Zizou to go out like that, but atleast he did it to the dirtiest c*nt on the soccer world.

Yeah what a c*nt Domenech is. I was rooting for France because of Zizou, but I would be rooting for Italy because of Domenech. What knobhead really. :nape:

It was brilliant.

How many people can say that on the last day on the job they headbutted someone and then left never to return again?

Genuis.
