Who told you that 56K was not playable? I play in the Scots Clan with all but one on BB. Our top player Bod who’s a Scot living in the isle of Man only had 56K till last week when he got ADSL in. He played no bother as far as I know for god knows how many seasons with CM4 with everyone.

Hosting-not a chance but playing with a host no prob’s.

I played UT on 56k for 2 years (1999-2001), then moved to broadband, playing games online are NOT unplayable with 56k. :p

/me misses the days of owning LPB's(Low ping bastards :p) with his 56k(U.S Robitic fax modem, pretty decent ping). :(

I eventually finished UT earlier this year, 4 great years of fragging, there won't be another game like it for me, UT2003 was piss :(.

I've never tried CM online, but I've heard on the SI forum that its absolute pish on a 56k, if its true, then imo it can only be poor netcode.

To be totally honest, you’ve not played till you’ve played in a clan game. Single player games are too easy, try 15 managers that know the game and data base and it’s human v human most games.

LOL all those poor lads that take teams to the CL final in single player mode in 2009 that think they have had a real game of it, you would be eaten alive so yeah it’s probably best some of you play single player mode.:kader:

The chant form the clan is “Easy-Easy, single player is so fu*king Easy”
:hump:

erm..... you're wrong. Ive played network/internet games for years and single player is far better. Sure single play is easier when you are Man utd which is what i expect most of you at your 'clan' use.

If that’s a come back I’ll give up right now….come back so poor the lads would laugh… yeah forgot to say we all start in Div3 in Scotland (rules are rules) and not Man U that’s for plonkers. It’s a fight to get promotion and players from day one with 4-10K spending money, it’s a mans ( Sorry 14 men and the lovelyTaloola) game were tactics have to be used and thought out.

Pity Tom no one has given you a game then or you’ve been playing the wrong guy’s. Online play with its banter and tactics is just sooooooooooooooooooo far better, single play is fine but I don’t want to be a lonely sad Boy chugging away with not much thought needed but I do want razor wit and good competition from my game, one player is just so boring now that I’ve been playing with the clan and the meet up fottie is fantastic.

im impressed you start with Div 3 teams though i think your lying personally.

No-one has give me a good game, ive played in a lot of network games with my friends and friends off websites, they've always been crap, not because they arnt always on at the same time, but because people get bored of them and they take a hell of a lot of time to process. Playing other human players is annoying as there is always one person who will be far better than everyone else or something along those lines. Then theres the stupid mass frenzy at the start of the game to snap up players who everyone knows are good, e.g. Tsigalko, Adu which gets so annoying with everyone trying to better the other.

Network games are crap in every way once the novelty dies out after about 2 hours os playing.

Oh, and i didnt call that a comeback, mine was a reply, as is this.

Well be impressed mate, we all start in div three and I’ve got a 39 page thread to back that up. We do team reports on a thread for the clan on the Si forum.

“Network games are crap in every way once the novelty dies out after about 2 hours os playing.” (your view)

No wonder your experience has been crap if the lads give up after 2 hours, we play on Mondays and Thursdays form 8pm-12am, so four hours in the norm per session. I guess the hardcore players will always get a better experience out of the game. The frenzy at the start could be too much for some, I understand that, when I started I was blown away at the speed the others organised, prioritised and worked so well when I was treading water. But the game settles down and its great fun and a rewarding experience, when I won promotion into the second division with my Cowden side I felt I deserved it after all the work put in and it went to the last day and last goal as a few were on my heals. Win the promotion was an achievement in the clan game due to the skill of the other players.

When I got promoted in single player mode it was no achievement just my experience in the clan game walking me through the game. Compared to the clan game the single player game holds little in the way of competition through the season, the Ai has improved to give the single players more of a game but it lacks the human cunning that make the clan game far more interesting. I would rather struggle in div 2 in the clan game than walk it with only the Ai.

Starting a new game in January and we plan it to go on for a good while and anyway its social so some are missing a great time, the M.I.R.C Chat is class.

I apologise for the showing of that green and white, I had to play in it and I’m a Gers fan.

the score 28-11 to the tic team, so I was well pleased I played in it!! :D

I just wish some of the Ger's team were that pish playing CM in the Clan game. :(

you seem to misunderstand, i have played a good few seasons on network games, i have took Barnsley to the premiership and the Uefa Cup, its not as though im a newcomer in the network world, ive played a lorra lorra games as cilla would say. But compared to a normal 'single player' game its pathetic. The only appeal of it i can see is watching how your mates can take Inverness to CL glory. Whats good about watching everyone around you snap up all these dodgy foreigners that everyone knows turn out to be amazing players all the time, its so predicable. You always know which mates will buy who and how well they will ultimatly do.

Hey Tom, what u think? Maybe we can start a network game one of these days.. We can also ask Ruud and Liam if they want to join.. Should be cool, most of us dont have to go to work/school these days...
