“i have took Barnsley to the premiership and the Uefa Cup, its not as though im a newcomer in the network world, ive played a lorra lorra games as cilla would say. But compared to a normal 'single player' game its pathetic” Tom
Obviously that’s only your opinion, and you can only comment on your personal experience of your online play. But the statement pathetic in online mode only suggests to me that you’ve not sadly been lucky enough to get the right balance between the two. Single player mode is too easy, non competitive, anti social and after a while gets so boring as nothing the Ai can throw at you is even remotely interesting. It is how ever good if you want an easy quick game, that you can build your fantasy dream team with. I’ve started my Stirling Albion team in Div 3 and got promotion in the first season and expect in to be in the SPL by season 4 in single mode. I use it more as a testing ground.
When the clan game Starts it will be dog eat dog with the 15 teams, promotion will be no cakewalk and there are no easy games home or away as the human teams get strengthened and battle it out. When I play my clan mate I know they are doing everything they can to get the three points and are finding it just as hard as me.
Put simply my experience is that single player mode is fine and great fun for when I’ve got the odd hour to fill and get my 3 div team into the CL. (Yes S. Albion in the CL) total fantasy but great fun, with little disappointment.
Online I get to share the fun and get real competition (Promotion if I’m Lucky with in a few seasons) with lots of frustration but joy as well as I get one over my friends in a few of the games. I prefer the more difficult clan game and find it more rewarding, as I get nothing really out of beating only the Ai, which makes some funny decisions and lets me buy all the good players.
I hope that someday you get the same deal of fun I’m getting out of the clan games. If not well at least your enjoying playing the Ai, so every one to there own.
“Whats good about watching everyone around you snap up all these dodgy foreigners that everyone knows turn out to be amazing players all the time, its so predicable. You always know which mates will buy who and how well they will ultimatly do.” Tom.
So totally the same as single player except you can buy all the players without the competition to build you team. Thankfully the lads don’t know every player but they do use there knowledge to the full but at least it is 15 teams buying these amazing players and not just the one like in single player mode that I find so predictable as you said “Barnsley to the premiership and the Uefa Cup” predictable yes if your in single player mode give it another season and it will be Barnsley in the CL.
