Every year Fifa uses propaganda to make people buy the game because of a really "cool:rolleyes: " feature they put in.
First touch, off the ball control, it's nothing really.:kader:

yes
it's not so great and new feature but it works quite fine, I seriously doubt Konami will add it but if they would it would be just another positive issue
it's like that all what is "fifash" must be screwed up, some things are interesting, some aren't

What are you talking about?? First touch IS availabe in PES3, they just don't hype it up like EA do... because first touch is one of many aspects of the game of football and so far it's the PES series that reproduce most of those aspects as realistic as possible.
i can't believe that there are people who still fall for this EA bullcrap year after year... didn't they say last year that "it's not important what you do on the ball, it's what you do off it" ?
Then this year they go and completely contradict themselves by introducing First Touch (which is something you do ON the ball) as the most important aspect in football.. IT'S ALL MARKETING GIMMICKS!

I agree with what the others have said, I think PES has got a good first touch system, they just havent spoken out loud about it, it's already there in the game. I love it cause you can recieve a bouncing or high ball, press R2 and the direction you wanna go, and he nocks it into his path. Or tap R2 once and he kills it dead. One touch system when ur passing is also good :) The backheels especially.

Yeah mate, they're right. For the first time ever EA has implemented possibility to actually do some first touch when receiving ball instead of just standing still and waiting while it calmly rolls right next to player. And they make a ''feature'' out of it when at the same time Iss series had the first touch since at least the PS1 times(I haven't played Nintendo 64 version). It's such a basic element of the dribbling and ball control, honest guys at Konami never hyped any of these as a ''features''. EA is just so poor at footie sim making, they try to represent every new sh!tty exacuted implementation as someting to look forward to. Un fortunately lot of paople buys it, partially because they've never played Konami games, partially because they lack knowledge in football and partially because they're just poor consumer cattle souls who will always be slaves of sharp proffesional marketing policy and will fall for it ignoring common sense and own experience.

is that not an animated touch, fifa2005;s first touch is the use of the right analog stick, you can flick the ball from right boot to left boot and lay it off in front of you .....

PES4 might like PES3 haveFT but it is animated as in the way a player can control a ball coming down or in controlling a pass , but nothing like Fifa's FT....

I would love PES4 to have this , its a shame that its in a poor game, if PES4 had the same FT as 2005 it would lift the game to next level....

WE/PES already has 1st touch but like sumone sed, konami dont make a huge deal about it. On the PS2 controller, it's the R2 button.

Go try it out.

How big is YOUR penis?
I`ve just tried the FIFA 2K5 on PS2. And to tell you the truth, the first touch is kinda interesting. It`s not quiet simillar with the ones in PES. If EA can keep this up and improve it, not removin` it like previous years  then this can be their trademark like the accurate foot settings in PES.

I have to say the AI in FIFA 2005 is still bad. The gap between the defense and midfield are to big durin` offense. Set pieces are crap. But then again they manage to improve the ball physics . . .

And one more thing, the off-side can still be turned off . . .

I've been told by many a people that the First touch thing is pretty much useless in the game and at best, you gain half an inch of space. Frankly, you can't beat the dribbling in PES/WE. As long as you know what your doing and have a half decent player, you can do what you need.

the "first touch feature" that you are talking about that is in fifa simply wouldn't fit in pes...

Pes sort of has something similar, exept for that to push out a little further on first touch you hold r1.

It doesn't have all the fancy tricks and moves (and a few more wouldn't hurt) on pes's first touch, but going overboard on it wouldn't be good either.

The first touch in fifa is a fifa thing, no matter how good it maybe, it would not fit in pes

pes has its own thing, and these little things define the uniquness of the game...

Like the **** konami techno menu music.
Simply said, that fits with the game.

I couldn't imagine that with a fifa game, and no matter what you say
i would (surprisingly, even to my self) rather not have the big bands like radiohead and stuff in pes...

Yess this first touch finally made a real footie sim from FIFA. For the first time its worth playing (till PC PES4 is out :rockman: )
But it still misses some psysical part of the game what PES3/WE7 had.
PES4 will become the winner again however an online possibility is a must for me to keep me enjoyed.
