Argentina vs. Uruguay [P] + [R]

Ruben Sosa

El Jovato
They'll be playing at the Artemio Franchi on Wednesday. Uruguay's latest friendlies have been against: Korea (2-0), Peru (4-3 & 1-0), Argentina (2-2), Cameroon (4-0) and Iraq (5-2). Carrasco has been playing around with the tactics to give Uruguay a more attacking outlook as opposed to its usual defensive style of play. This is also the first time he's called more than a couple of Euro based players.

ARGENTINA (Not Confirmed)

Pablo Cavallero
Javier Zanetti
Roberto Ayala
Walter Samuel
Diego Placente
Juan Sebastián Verón
Matías Almeyda
Cristian "Kily" González
Luciano Galetti
Pablo Aimar
Hernán Crespo

URUGUAY

Gustavo Munúa
Gianni Guigou
Alejandro Lembo
Diego López
Mario Regueiro
Guillermo Giacomazzi
Nelson Abeijón
Alvaro Recoba
Javier Chevantón
Sebastián Abreu
Diego Forlán

gonna be an amazing game. Im getting my entire family and friends to come over tomorow.

There are high hopes in Uruguay with the "new" team. Beating Argentina would really make us go up in the World Ranking and would just be great.

I just see URuguay taking the game. Even if we lose, Carrasco has proven that he can manage the team WAY better than Pua (which he has already proven)

Ruben Sosa

El Jovato
I think he's great. I hoped he'd stay for another season in Uruguay and moved to Nacional after both Alves and Abreu left, but I think he's ready to give Europe a shot. I'm hoping he does well and doesn't just fade to obscurity like Richard Morales and Antonio Pacheco did.

Gonna be a good game. Uruguay are really improving under Carrasco so I can't expect great things from Argentina. Also, a bad result would help in getting Bielsa fired. He NEEDS to leave, it's pathetic that he's still incharge

Uruguay is gonna use 3 strikers:o Hopefully Chevanton doesn't play as well as he did last time and won't create problems for us. Best of luck to Uruguay, I like seeing them doing well and I respect them.:)

One change for the lineup. Galleti isn't going to start. Diego Milito is set to start up front with Crespo.:)

Ruben Sosa

El Jovato
I've just seen another line up that has Claudio Lopez instead of Galleti...

In case anyone cares, Uruguay beat Montecatini, an amateur club from Italy, 21-0 with J.R. Carrasco (our Manager...) scoring once. :p

Anywho... I think it'll be a draw. Uruguay hasn't beaten Argentina since 1989 for the Copa America (2-0, both goals scored by the "Principito" Ruben Sosa). But here's hoping we whoop them like we whooped Cameroon. (H) ;)

btw PAblo what do you think about Hornos ?
That name Hornos made me do a double take. Thought it said something else.

Anyone know if Little Mandrake will be called up for this match. I know he plays for Wolfsburg now and he had an assist and a goal in their last match against Hamburger SV.

El Mago Mandrake :) aka Andres D'Alessandro

Yes, he has been called up but will not be starting.

He's expected to be one of the first few subs on. The other players likely to participate are Claudio Lopez, Saviola, and Galleti.

Bielsa is a moron however, so anything can happen.

2' - 1-0 Uruguay - Forlan

:(

This is a much better Uruguay under Carrasco, one of the best teams they've had in the past 15-20 years.

Lets not start with this argument again Snyper. :crazyboy: :p

There's nothing to argue about, your favouring a Toluca player. Obviously he's been overlooked for a reason.

Forlan/Abreu/Chevanton/Nuñez/Bueno/Hornos

6 strikers who have been chosen ahead of him:rolleyes: Where's the case for an argument?
