Quit the glory hunting. Bielsa is garbage. He is the single reason we were eliminated at the world cup. NO coach who did what he did held there job. Passarella was fired after 98, Bilardo after 94. Bielsa is no different and should have been sacked.

Caniggia ahead of Saviola:rolleyes:

What kind of absolute moron makes decisions like that, right at that moment he should have lost his job.

He gets booed by every single Argentine, even the fans at todays game were cursing him. And at the last Uruguay game in La Plata the entire stadium was cursing him. Time for him to leave.

Who would you replace Bielsa with?

A few months back I was hoping De Leon would take over the National team, but some messed up law we have doesn't let him manage in Uruguay. Leave it to us to bring our own football down. But I think JR is doing the right things, he should get in touch with Carini though. I think Munua is great, and should wear the No.1, but if he gets injured who do we call? Ignacio? Hell no...

For those of you who didn't know, Munua was the No.1 GK for Uruguay in the youth team ahead if Carini.

I agree the Caniggia Vs Saviola move was not the brightest thing in the world....BUT it's his fault Sorin couldn't header the ball in the goal twice against Sweden? Bielsa held us to 1 loss and 41 goals I believe? He deserves to stay.

Oh yeah, BTW....who would you like to replace him???? Please name him...and oh yeah what if he were to fail and Argentina does miserably and misses a World Cup...then everyone would be crying for Bielsa. Please man, you need to think things over before you start typing things.

I would like to see Bilardo come back and coach the team. He commands a high amount of respect from his players and has done well. He's doing great things for Estudiantes la plata, where he coaches now.

I agree, Carini should be called, he stole more than a couple of games for Uruguay. I remember a few occasions where he was great, Bolivia(in La Paz) and vs Australia (home). He plays great and is the best Uruguayan keeper. I didn't know about Munua being chosen ahead of him in the youth teams, but I remember Carini was the starter for Uruguay in the sub 21 in Malaysia. Great Tourney.:)

I think YOU need to think. Every single person in Argentina wants Bielsa gone. I think you should follow Argentina a little more before you criticize me. Stop your glory hunting. Stick to yer USA and peru. :kader:

Bilardo is next in line to coach the team. The next candidate should be Jose Pekerman, one of the best coaches in the world when it comes to developing young players. Some people mentioned Cuper, but personally I don't like his tactics at all.

Actually, No. It was Munua in Malaysia, Carini in Nigeria. :)

Did el Pesetero play for Uruguay ? (refering to Nico Olivera)

Nope, Nico Olivera wasn't called up. Ruben "Pollo" Olivera was. Last I heard of him he was at Juve. I REALLY wish he'd stayed in Uruguay two more seasons before moving to Europe... :(

great game. we played well.
I was watching it with some english buddies of mine and they all were saying how any team in south america (excluding Brazil and uruguay) would not play that well against argentina.

argentina played well for the last half of both football halves.
uruguay played extremly well at times and controlled the pitch well during many moments.

Got to say that both teams are pretty much sure for the qualifyers but Uruguay still was changing around and took off many of their main stars like Forlan (mostly due to the god damn ref not calling any fouls and allowing them for both teams)

Chevanton was wisley taken off as he was being fouled WAY too much (atleast 2 red card type fouls to him....poor guy...he was all red at the end)

If Uruguay would have stayed consistent at the end, they would have won. All the players need to work on is their Fitness and well be fine.

great game.

:D

That's true, but the Uruguayan shirt seems to weight 5 times more than club shirts for some Euro based players... ;) I'm hoping JR manages to change that, he seems to be in the right track. :)

I just saw the game, great football from both teams. Samuel looks like he is in awesome shape, what a great defender, one of the best in the world.
