Ive never seen Mavuba play (thought his name was Rio ) but as I recall he was the darkhorse in all the names being bandied about by the Spanish Press when Real clearly needed a holding midfielder, being put up there with names like VanBommel, Graveson, and Mascherano. Maybe the Bordeaux fan on here could give you a scouting report, but as I recall, the RM fans didnt want him cause of how strange his hair looked But I would think that Arsenal would hold off on buying any foreign youngsters for the next little while.

He was player of the tournament in the U-20 Toulon tournament, this was the same tournament that saw the current French coach really make any future National team jobs his, by guiding his team to victory against some very talented squads from around the world. Just to give a idea of who else was playing in the tournament, i'll mention a few names, including our own Clichy, Ali, Pongolle and Le Tallec of Liverpool.

Looks like a good prospect, and right now WE NEED GILBERTO back.

Yea, they beat Utd when Redknapp was still in charge and Utd were really out of form.
