First off its good to see Tony still with the club,

Gunners spy on Dutch duo

Tony Adams has been in Holland doing some scouting on Feyenoord players for Arsenal.

The former Gunners skipper has been to see Feyenoord in action on a number of occasions, and was present for Sunday's emphatic 6-3 victory over ADO Den Haag.

Striker Dirk Kuyt is thought to be a target and he showed his worth with a hat-trick against ADO on Sunday.

Kuyt has banged in 29 goals in the Eredivisie this term and has attracted admirers from across Europe.

Arsene Wenger is also keen on Salomon Kalou, but he will have trouble getting a move as the Dutch authorities have not yet granted him a Dutch passport.

Adams was also seen on Monday morning around Feyenoord, who are currently without a coach following Ruud Gullit's departure.

AW did mention somewhere that he was looking for or did think that a striker who can grab us a late goal or give us an arial threat would be nice, so that explains the interest in Kuyt. I saw him play against England although i would like to give an opinion on any Dutch player in that game due to me being so bored by Sven's tactics (still why Johnson on the right?????). But 29 league goals is quite something. Highly possible transfer IMO.

Kuyt would be a great choice for Arsenal. He's scores easily, creates plenty of chances for others and, most importantly, is a player who never lets you down in terms of determination. He's all over the pitch, fighting for every ball and still he's able to score 29 goals in a season. Just the player Arsenal need up front, I'd say.

i don't think we're gonna go in for strikers this time cuz bergkamps stayin and even reyes has said that he will remain at arsenal. Henry no doubt...cuz he had said that he'll play till he's 60 for arsenal. So i guess we don't need any1.

How could i forget van persie :jap:

What about Van Nistenrooy, Robben, Zlatan or even Van Persie?

They were all good in the Netherlands and are even better abroad. I say give him a chance he has the right characteristics, would give us a new threat that none of our current strikers can't offer and he shouldn't be that expansive.

very true..well said rsnjg....as for dreath kezman isn't scoring since he isn't playing many games due to the current form of the chelsea team....whereas if given an oppurtunity i'm sure he'll do well.

Scoring 29 goals in Holland is like scoring 5 goals in England. Look at Kezman.
That's the stupidest thing I've heard all day.

Look at the strikers produced in the Eredivisie. Bergkamp, van Basten, Romario, Kluivert, Ronaldo, van Nistelrooy. All are first class strikers. That's not to say that all of the Eredivisie's top strikers are gonna make it at a big club. Look at Luc Nilis or Niklos Machlas. But to discount Kuyt's 29 goals is shallow-minded.

I'm an Ajax fan, I hate the little twat that Kuyt is. However, that doesn't change the fact that he's Holland's best striker after Ruud van Nistelrooy and Roy Makaay. Tony Adams is in Rotterdam for a reason and it's not because he likes to sight see.
