Yossarian will be happy, we shouldn't settle for anyone less than Ballack. (H)

We could also move Kolo up to midfield and splash some cash on a real world class defender.

We're going to look like a small club if we sell one of our best players and don't buy another world class player to replace him.

hehe.....hmmmzer.....Kolo being converted to DM? Very intriguing...hmmzer.

you're definitely correct about us looking rather inferior if our captain is easily being lured away by a club that had a sub-par season last year (or maybe it just reflects badly on Vieira's loyalty...dinae care either way much as long as we hit the motherload on his transfer)

-----Reyes------------Pires------Ballack-------------------Pennant-------

-----------------------------AlessioTacchinardi----------------------------

-----Coles-------------------------Toure-----------------------------Trabelsi

--------------------------------------Jens-------------------------------------

-Sol Campbell (including some cash.....maybe 5million pounds) in exchange for Tacchinardi

-Vieria sold off for 35million pounds.......the cash plus the chump change from the Sol transfer will allow us to purchase Zlatan (10million pounds) Ballack (23 million pounds) Trabelsi (5million pounds)

Campbell - tougher to replace within our current squad, for sure, but not as valuable a player.
Good case, though. I had to think hard about that one, but I feel Campbell would be easier to replace on the market. I wouldn't want to see him go, at all. Up there with Vieira, for sure.

Henry - Don't get me wrong, he is a fantastically gifted player. He scores important goals, at times. He can do some amazing things.
However, he is not a consistent player, nor is he a big game performer. In every big game, he spends the entire time acting like a great player, instead of playing like one. If passes are not right to him, then he looks at his teammate, as if to say 'what the **** is that? See what I have to put up with?'. He then proceeds to not fight to regain possession after he has lost it. He rarely takes on defenders with the same confidence and focus as when he is playing against, let's say, Richard Dunne on Man City. He will work on, on the ball, but it takes him nowhere, and usually produces a lot of token efforts (i.e. Euro).

He has many gifts, and scores a **** loads of beautiful goals. I feel that he lacks on the big stage, and that's what will hold him back, and possibly Arsenal, from becoming the best in Europe.

Euro was a great example of that. Where was Henry? Shocking. Pires showed up, Zidane sort of, no one else on that team (Vieira was pretty average, for those of you who were going to jump on that).

His (Henry's) one great performance in the CL, this year, was against Inter. Inter was on par with Leicester, that day, and our whole team was walking over them.

Whether he's right or not is up to you, as it's an opinion, but at least he has well thought out points to back up his arguments. I happen to agree with LaBrujita. Henry never shows up on the international stage. I feel he's too arrogant as well.

I'm a admirer of Henry's abilities, but i have to agree. He chokes on the big matches, loses patience too quickly and tends to be a prick with his team mates. Just remember him going berserk at Lauren at the Man Utd game in Highbury. And he cant head a ball for his life. Still a great player, but he lacks in some departments.

PARLOUR CONSIDERING BORO OFFER

Ray Parlour is considering an offer from Middlesbrough, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed.

Skysports.com revealed earlier this summer that Boro had made a move for Parlour and now Wenger has confirmed that talks are ongoing.

Boro are understood to have lodged a bid of near £2 million for the 31-year-old - who has just one-year left on his current contract at Highbury.

Parlour's agent Steve Kutner has told skysports.com that his client will not be offered a new deal at the club, so the former England midfielder is now considering his options.

Wenger has now admitted that Parlour has a lucrative offer to join The Riverside ranks.

"He was linked and the decision will be made soon," said Wenger when asked about Boro's interest.

"Ray is in a situation where he has been offered a two or three year contract, but I would like him to stay."

Parlour must now decide whether to make the switch to Boro or stay and fight for his place, in what would almost certainly be his last season with Arsenal.

The player himself would not be draw on the speculation, but admitted he wanted first-team football.

"All I want to do is play first-team football," he said.

"As I said my priority at this stage of my career is to be in the starting XI every week.

"At the moment I'm an Arsenal player but to be honest I've got very little choice but to keep my opinions open at present.

"I've been trying to keep myself fit and if something happens then that's football."

2m for Parlour sounds like good business by Wenger again.

Well if Vieira goes we'll be weakened. No doubt about it. however! Listen before you flame. All is not lost. Remember Juve they thought that with Zidane gone they were screwed. Were they? Hell no!

IF Vieira leaves, Xabi Alonso or Gattuso will be great replacements.
Although when Wenger says some-one's staying, they stay.

If what you say is true, why has he scored against Chelsea, Man utd, Hat trick against liverpool, Newcastle, Inter Milan. Surely if he was crap against them he wouldn't of scored?
