Zizou admits advising Real on Vieira


Real Madrid ace Zinedine Zidane has revealed that club president Florentino Perez has asked him about potential transfer target Patrick Vieira.
The Arsenal skipper is being strongly linked with a move to Madrid as the club look to continue their policy of bringing in a top star every year.

Perez is a big fan of Vieira and is hoping to lure him away from Highbury to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Zidane was playing down his role in Real's interest in his French team-mate insisting it was up to Perez to decide whether or not they wanted to sign Vieira.

"I cannot confirm all the things that were written in the press," Zidane told his own official website.

"Saying who should be coming to the club is not my role. I spoke with the president because he asked me for information on Patrick.

"But he is the boss and he will decide whether or not the deal must be done or not.

"I just said to him, like everybody else, that Vieira is one of the best at this position.

"But it is not me who makes the decisions on the team."

WENGER PRAISE FOR TRIALISTS


Arsene Wenger will not be following up interest in Beveren duo Marco Ne and Emmanuel Eboue - but the Arsenal boss was impressed with the two trialists.
The two Africans both features in Arsenal's traditional pre-season friendly against Barnet, continuing a long-standing accord with their Belgian club and The Gunners.

Wenger believes that both Eboue and Ne have great talent, and will keep an eye on them after they return to Beveren.

"We have a good partnership with Beveren," Wenger explained to Arsenal.com.

"Every year I go out there to watch them once or twice and I choose one or two players who have the potential to be with us.

"We were right with the two we chose at Barnet, they have both got talent.

"At the moment they will stay where they are, but we will keep an eye on them."


Meanwhile, Wenger is still targeting up to two more players before the season starts next month.
"There is still a possibility someone will come in soon," said Wenger - who is battling to keep hold of captain Patrick Vieira.

"One or a maximum of two. I don't know the position yet, you'll discover it soon.

"But there is a big possibility that one player will join us before the season starts."

nope, i can tell it was the real deal... besides sportschek nevers sells imitations.. and it was just the home

its unbelievable how most of you guys believe what the press knocks up. didnt they say he was leaving EVERY summer (besides last summer)
they only do it to sell papers, and they sell even more when they "officially reveal that vieira is staying"... you guys have to understand what is realy and what is fake - and this is certainly fake

thats what they have been saying for over a month "trablesi signs for gunners" stuff like that... you can never believe it until there are ACTUAL QUOTES or officially revealed on an official site (i.e. arsenal.com)

Would the signing of Trabelsi mean goodbye Freddy or goodbye Lauren?
Freddy was awesome at Euro 2004 and uh, Lauren's pretty ok technically.
I doubt Trabelsi was bought as cover cus he's pretty damn good and he isn't the age of a cover-player.
