Well, you were very unlucky to not win. You guys look very good under Recino. A more mature Aguero would have buried us 6 ft. under. Great match played.

I think we were unlucky too. Real scored on a offside, Agüero had 3 alone with Casillas-situation, Pongolle missed on a open goal. Well, back to work. They need to keep building this team, but it's better now than for two weeks ago. I see the improvement.

Someone who think we have a chance on Porto?
I don't (H)

Should be a good match, you looked great against Barça and Real.
I was really surprised by the weak display from Atletico in Madrid but I guess it's fair to say we were simply too good on the night. Had we taken half of those clear goal chances, this leg should be nothing but a mere formality...

Anyway I'll be at the Dragão (H), so here's hoping for a spectacular game ending with a good win for us :browsmiley:

btw,
HULK ESMAGA! (H)

We'll see. I am hoping for a good game and I hope Agüero really shows Europe who he are tomorrow night.

Erm....no. (H)

We've been having some trouble playing at home this season, especially against teams who defend almost exclusively behind the ball.
But this should be a different match since Atletico are the ones who actually need to score so we will surely have a lot more room to play our football (like we did in Madrid).

It seems like your president is too confident and so is your media saying that if you guys play half of what you did against Real you will win confortably...sorry but, LMAO! I reckon they were amazingly quick to forget about the Calderon ownage

Well he is very fit these days. I don't care who send us through, just that we actually get through.

Here is the pressconference with Abel Resino:

Atlético de Madrid manager Abel Resino appeared before the Spanish and Portuguese media on Tuesday at the Estadio do Dragao de Oporto. The coach from the south of Madrid pointed out that “in this match the word ‘win’ takes more importance than ever, as right now we can’t speculate. We have to go for the victory from the opening whistle.”

“It’s important to give a good image. We know that Oporto is a great team, as they have speed, are complete and compact. The team is mentally prepared to approach this encounter in top form,” stated Abel.

The rojiblanco manager wanted to highlight that the match that will be seen on Wednesday will be very different from the one against Real Madrid. “Oporto and Madrid are two very different squads. Each match is a story. Yeah, it’s true that to do something positive here we have to show the same attitude that we did against Barcelona and Real Madrid,” he emphasized.

“It’s not normal for us to have so many scoring chances and miss them, as happened to us at the Santiago Bernabéu. I’d settle for the team creating the same amount, but I’m sure that that won’t happen, it’s going to be a tougher match,” he asserted.

Upon being asked about Assunção, Abel Resino left it clear that “he’s a great professional and has great respect for these supporters. When he was at Oporto he gave his all for that jersey. I’ve spoken with him and he’s calm. On Wednesday he’ll take the pitch to give his all for the jersey that he wears now, which is that of Atlético de Madrid, but always respecting Oporto.”

“They have lots of speed and if we leave them spaces, they’ll take advantage of them. It’s going to be a tough, difficult and very long game,” stated the coach from Velada.

Concerning whether or not he’s going to reserve any player for league play, Abel commented that “you always assess everything, since we know that the Villarreal match in La Liga is very important for us. You assess everything before a match, but this Club has to rub shoulders with the greats and to do that we have to count on our best.”

“This match is perhaps the most important for me and for the organization in a long time. I think that this competition has returned joy to us. We have to go for it with everything we have, since you don’t achieve anything with fear,” the manager finished by saying.

We'll see how it goes, to be honest I can't see Atletico being as weak as in the first leg but I also don't think that they are that much better now.
Every game is different and I'm sure and they'll put up a fight tonight, but we do have our share of brilliant players who should manage well enough to get us through to next round.

I'm really pumped up for this one, the weather is awesome and since I'm not working today I'm having all the time to "warm up" for the match myself...man, can't wait to get into the stadium :innocent_smile_1:
