Well, you were very unlucky to not win. You guys look very good under Recino. A more mature Aguero would have buried us 6 ft. under. Great match played.

Atlético de Madrid manager Abel Resino appeared before the Spanish and Portuguese media on Tuesday at the Estadio do Dragao de Oporto. The coach from the south of Madrid pointed out that “in this match the word ‘win’ takes more importance than ever, as right now we can’t speculate. We have to go for the victory from the opening whistle.”
“It’s important to give a good image. We know that Oporto is a great team, as they have speed, are complete and compact. The team is mentally prepared to approach this encounter in top form,” stated Abel.
The rojiblanco manager wanted to highlight that the match that will be seen on Wednesday will be very different from the one against Real Madrid. “Oporto and Madrid are two very different squads. Each match is a story. Yeah, it’s true that to do something positive here we have to show the same attitude that we did against Barcelona and Real Madrid,” he emphasized.
“It’s not normal for us to have so many scoring chances and miss them, as happened to us at the Santiago Bernabéu. I’d settle for the team creating the same amount, but I’m sure that that won’t happen, it’s going to be a tougher match,” he asserted.
Upon being asked about Assunção, Abel Resino left it clear that “he’s a great professional and has great respect for these supporters. When he was at Oporto he gave his all for that jersey. I’ve spoken with him and he’s calm. On Wednesday he’ll take the pitch to give his all for the jersey that he wears now, which is that of Atlético de Madrid, but always respecting Oporto.”
“They have lots of speed and if we leave them spaces, they’ll take advantage of them. It’s going to be a tough, difficult and very long game,” stated the coach from Velada.
Concerning whether or not he’s going to reserve any player for league play, Abel commented that “you always assess everything, since we know that the Villarreal match in La Liga is very important for us. You assess everything before a match, but this Club has to rub shoulders with the greats and to do that we have to count on our best.”
“This match is perhaps the most important for me and for the organization in a long time. I think that this competition has returned joy to us. We have to go for it with everything we have, since you don’t achieve anything with fear,” the manager finished by saying.
We'll see how it goes, to be honest I can't see Atletico being as weak as in the first leg but I also don't think that they are that much better now.Arnau;2638523 said:yes porto deserve to won that match 2-5 but they didnt, now atleti its stronger than before (very inconsisten team) and probably will kick you of Cl.
