Exactly, for those that say Ronaldo, just look at how Kaka totally and completely out played him in that semi final match-up.

u cant take one game and then compare two players andd give someone an award...
i mean...its only the champions league tht milan won...in every other competition kaka didnt do anything that great as ronaldo...

frankly i think its a disgrace, i mean yes kaka was outstanding in the CL but lets face it that was 12 games of the whole year. where ronaldo was amazing in the epl, leading the team toa championship, fa cup final and a semi final in the cl. and what about milan? where did they finish?

even this season ronaldo is way out performing kaka domestically and in the cl. and lets not talk about internationals. ronaldo the midfielder witha goal every other game statisically for portugal.

lets face it the only reason kaka won is cos hes brazilian and plays in italy, and well all know how much people hate english teams, i mean its a french award...given the recent outbursts by platini im not suprised it went to kaka.

i would agree that kaka and ronaldo are the best in the world at the moment, i jsut dispute the fact that they have kaka first

ronaldo had a major huge contribution in every major competition man united played....The French magazine was only seeing the champions league this season I guess...
its a disgrace...Kaka is no ddoubt one of the best....but henever played better than ronaldo on all fronts

First of all a CL semi-final is played over two legs. Second of all let's just have a little comparison shall we?

Ronaldo
2006-2007 EPL: 17 goals
2006-2007 CL: 3 goals

Manchester United won the EPL and got completely outclassed in the semi-final of the most prestigious club competition in the world.

Kaka
2006-2007 Serie A: 8 goals
2006-2007 CL: 10 goals

Milan finished 4th in Serie A even though they started the season off with -6 points. They dominated the semi-final against Man Utd and Kaka completely outclassed Ronaldo. Remember Kaka scored a double at Old Trafford and then came back and scored again in Milan, he single handedly scored 3 goals, as much as Man Utd scored in both legs.

So how are you gonna sit there and tell me that Ronaldo was the better player? If you consider the EPL more important than the CL I guess you have a point but when we're talking about the best player in Europe the CL is obviously going to weigh more.

what you need to understand is YOU DONT BECOME A GREAT PLAYER SIMPLY BY BEATING AVERAGE TEAMS EVERY WEEK

ronaldo didn't just lead united to the epl, it was a team effort, are you saying rooney, scholes, giggs and vidic were just bit part players. he just had the best seaon out of the lot. you read too much of this media sh*t.

ronaldo can play brilliant vs average premiership teams will poor mentality but can do nothing against europes elite (hence the milan game last season) those are the games in which you find out just how good a player is, its not hard to beat teams like fulham, middlesbrough, aston villa and wigan. thats why they end op losing 10-12 games a season, its not about games like that

pele and maradona didnt become legends by just beating poor teams like that, they also destoyed the worlds best aswell, ronaldo can't compete when it comes to the worlds best
