Boy that was horrible. I almost felt asleep while watching that game. At least our defense looked better. Podolski did more in those 14 minutes than Roque did in the whole game.

May we have Hargreaves? Pretty please with a cherry on top.
He, I bet the English media will make a meal outta the fact that he wasn't in the squad today.
The issue is closed, for the last fecking time. Our gm said they could have gotten €30M, Man United were that desperate.

The media is speculating that it might have been a punishment - if he had the flu, why would he sit next to Poldi?

Ottl. I think he has a good chance to remain in the starting team when Owen returns:

---------- Ottl -- Micho -----
-- Owen ------------ Schweinsteiger ---

About zero creativity through the middle but at least defensively solid.

Hargreaves and Lucio won't make the trip to Spain. Hargreaves might be excluded from the squad until September 1st. There won't be further talks between him and the Bayern board.

A talk between Bayern Munich general manager Uli Hoeness and midfielder Owen Hargreaves ended in a row on Saturday, according to German press reports. The incident came after the German champions told Manchester United to “stop pursuing” the England international.

The 54 year-old revealed he had a discussion with Hargreaves, but admitted "it was only very short. It's clear that the player will not leave under any circumstances. Therefore, there's no need for any further talks with him."

Hargreaves has gone public over his desire to join Manchester United, though according to Kicker Magazine, Hoeness told Manchester United chief executive David Gill they could "offer 50 million euros for Owen Hargreaves. But we won't sell him."

Hoeness then told the Munich daily tageszeitung "Owen would be well advised to quieten down. Otherwise I'll become really annoyed, and that wouldn't be good for him," adding "The youngsters must realise that a contract works two ways. It is a question of respect. If he understands that, he'll become an even better player."

Bayern continued their 100% start to the season with a 2-1 win at VfL Bochum on Sunday. Hargreaves missed the game as he was suffering from flu.

"Bayern Munich will never be taken for a ride by big clubs and become weak at the knees as soon as a certain level of money is mentioned. If you gain that sort of reputation, then it is all over for you."

I think that's the key point. Look what happened to Lyon. They've sold their best player for the second year in a row, no one knows whether the replacements can make the same impacts. The Essien story last year showed Diarra that he would get his wish if he forces his way out.

We can't be thrown around by wealthier clubs, we 'lost' ballack and if we keeping throwing out our players to get some quick cash, we're not going to have a solid base for the squad.

We can wait 'til january 2007 with this midfield? U must be jokin'.....
We've lost this summer Jerry, Ballack and Ze Roberto, without Hargeaves who plays in midfield? Micho and Ottl like in Bochum? Can't believe that! We have too Deisler out 'til almost november, Karimi and dos Santos are not players for a great team like Bayern, Scholli can't play 90 minutes, maybe at january we'll be with Bremen 20 points behind us, we need new players and I can't understand why the staff and Uli are not lookin' for them.....
That's not a great team like it is. :( :-puke: :boohoo: :nape:

Hargreaves is staying so he has to play out of position as some kind of deep playmaker. I have no idea if/how that's gonna work out but let's wait and see. One thing is for sure, we're gonna be über-boring this year with two natural dms in the center. Thank god we have one of the best back fours in the world.
I would like to try to play either Poldi or Pizza behind the two strikers, like Santa Crap did in some games.

Next summer it's time to rip Leverkusen apart again. Barnetta was the best Swiss player at the WC and is one the top young prospects around Europe. Simon Rolfes reminds me of Ballack in 2000-2002, he scores and is good on both ends of the pitch. He should be called up to the nt soon. Leverkusen usually sell us their best players for bargain prices.

Kahn will retire in 2008 (2007 if we win the CL). At that time Rensing is 24, the perfect age to take over the job.

We apologize for keeping the yellow too long
