We would have won the double and got humiliated by Milan without him, too. Don't know if that's "doing ok" for you. The record in the games where he was either injured or suspended and thus couldn't slow us down speaks for itself.

Actually Lahm is good enough to be RB or LW and if Chelsea can't get Ferreira to start playing better then... but it's unlikely. Hinkel would probably be the best RB in Germany and I don't know why he doesn't start for Germany. Gorlitz just doesn't play so...
BTW, there are plenty of decent Ballack replacements but Bayern have to be willing to spend the money.
