Let's see, the game is now being released in the UK on October 24th. The date today is October 3rd and nobody, not even Matt, knows when the demo is remotely gonna be released.

All adds up to one thing. The demo will not appear until after the actual game is released. Reason? Well, EA read these boards and everybody and their dog has said they won't buy FIFA 2004 until they've played the demo. If I was EA and read that I'd think "they won't wait for the demo once the game is in the stores, they won't be able to resist". And they're right.

You can't tell me all the FIFA fans are going to ignore FIFA 2004 in it's nice new shiny box in the store window for weeks while you wait until you can play the demo! Of course not, you're going to go into the store and buy the game. Probably the majority of the copies are sold within the first month anyway becasue of the "I want it now" syndrome.

Mark my words (and I'll get the spoon ready for the humble pie if I'm wrong) but I have a VERY strong feeling you guys won't see a demo until after the release of the game.

Matt may tell you otherwise but the fact even he has no clue of a date anytime soon and the release is under three weeks away.......

making a demo takes time... so I'm sure it will be out before the game release.. but they probably waited until the game was complete before starting on the demo.

First of all this is a great post. I believe he is right, but there is a way to by pass this. Lets say EA didn't release the dame before the game, I have got 2 choices, I will either buy the game and play it for few days and return the damn thing or wait till it hits to the gaming stores so I can rent it before purchase it for real.

and about releasing the demo earlier or not, remember last year, we, the editors, made lots and lots of patches for the demo, especially Ariel who made and unlocked like 12 teams.
I remember that we had the demo like 2 month before the game, in fact, we had 2 demos, because they released a second version a month before, and the worst thing was that people just got bored of the game by playing the demo. so I guess some people didnt buy the game cuz they bored already.

on the other hand, if you cant test the game with a demo before buying it, then some people will surely not buy it.

This year, if I were EA, I would release it without a demo and see how things, and especially sales, go. and then next year they know for sure what to do

they suck we just know it, but we are just too lame and be silent, nice good solid point by the way

who cares about playing the demo anyway? if you are a fan of the series, you will go buy the game. and i am sure there are many fans outside of this forum who do just that. and about this hakem guy. he closed my post about stadiums and provided me a link with the news about stadiums. HOWEVER, my question was not at all answered with this link, so why did he close it? i think he is a forum nazi

well demo is the only way to try out a game before we buy the full one, but you are right too about fans of this game will sure buy this game nomatter what.

but if you promise something or tell something, make sure to dont break it, EA it goes to you
you are nowadays getting a bad reputation, most of the pirated softwares are normally your's, check out the statistic

i think that EA are releasing the DEMO a couple of days before the release for one reason:

if when you play the demo you see alot of bugs and then tell EA there's a bug here and there,fix this and this..they'll just have this answer ready "Well its too late to fix these bugs as Fifa2004 is already complete. We will look into these problems and take them into account on our future release Fifa2005."

well I just hope to see the demo before sunday... they released the demo of fifa of 2003 a sunday I think...anyway is true that EA always have a reason to dont repair bugs in games spacially in fifa ... something that is not understandable is that being soccer the most famous sport and the one with more fans around world. Ea cant take profit of that by giving some feedback. When they were the only ones in the market the make a great sponsoring of the game telling things and then aparently for an act of magic they were removed ... now with Pes in the way things are much complicated they want to make a great soccer game but using the same sponsoring strategy ..wich makes them now hard to beleive in every aspect. You may see that some features are now out.

THe Demo will be out .. when ? probably this week if the product is good enought. But I think is time for a official release specially from Matt that is our representant in the forums. No matter what Ea will not modify the game maybe they will release a patch or some update for creation center. We will just buy pes or download the game from internet if the product dont satisfied the fifa fans ... and its very simple since now a lot of people have dns or high speed internet.

EA sucks.....they should do everyone the favor and relinquish the trade name licence to all the teams so Konami can build the perfect game.
