baseball....mostly in Japan and USA....

You guys are picking sports from which the majority of the people that play and interested in them are American. The second most popular sport is athletics, then I'd say motor racing. Those, like football are true global sports.

i'd say bball is more popular than cricket in america but cricket is much more popular in europe and asia and africa
so cricket gets 2nd place IMO

I'd say Basketball is more popular than Cricket in europe.

Italy, Spain, France, Lithuania, Greece, Germany, Serbia. Basketball is bigger than cricket in all those places.

Test-playing nations:

India - by far and away the most popular sport in the country

Pakistan - see above

Australia - i think cricket is the national sport there

New Zealand - cricket is only second to rugby. The summer sport of this country.

West Indies - recently cricket's popularity has been on the wane and football is perhaps the most popular sport in the Caribbean islands now. Cricket is probably second or third there even today.

Bangladesh - once again cricket is the most popular sport there

England - probably the third most popular sport, behind football and rugby.

Zimbabwe - not sure where cricket stands, but i'm fairly sure it's in the top 3.

South Africa - third most popular, behind football and rugby

Sri Lanka - most popular sport there


I'm not saying cricket is the second most popular sport in the world(i think that might be rugby to be honest), but i just wanted to put the record straight.

Oh and outside of the Test-playing world, cricket is fairly popular in Kenya, who have put out competitive teams at recent World Cups.
